We went Ghyll Scrambling today as a family with younger children. This was a fantastic which we all thoroughly enjoyed. Emma was our instructor who made the even better with her clear instructions and wonderful, friendly manner particularly with our children aged 11 and 9, putting them at ease and giving them lots of confidence to 'get stuck in'. This event was thrilling, funny and a definite 'must do'. Finished off in the best manner with home made hot chocolate and Brownie. Thank you Emma and Rocqua for a great day and an we won't forget. Was an amazing doing the Canyoning today. It was a small group of three and we all thoroughly enjoyed it. Brian was incredibly friendly and very skilful with a rope and harness. Emma and Brian are fabulous guides, both really friendly and approachable. Both were fab with our little boy who said he had a 10/10 time! The Ghyll Scrambling was well explained, very well thought through and so much fun. The hot chocolate and brownies at the end was a nice touch! Definitely recommend Rocqua for an in the lakes. 😃 We had a brilliant time! I highly recommend Canyoning with Brian and Emma. Both are super friendly, clearly very passionate and love what they do, which makes the service very enjoyable and so much fun. The canyoning itself has some technical parts with abseiling as well as some scrambling and jumps through waterfalls. If you have never done canyoning before you should definitely try it as you find yourself wading through a waterfall and areas you would never explore outside of this. We went for my brothers birthday and Brian and Emma went the extra mile and really personalised their service. They gave us brownies after, a hot chocolate and a beer, if we wanted it. They even brought out the rainbow at the end - see photos! They wrote a lovely card to my brother wishing him happy birthday from themselves as well as their lovely dog Busta, which was a really nice touch. Highly recommend and will love to go again when we revisit the Lake District! Absolutey 5 stars for Canyoning, could not recommend this and the host/guide enough. We were fortunate enough to have Brian, our guide for the morning, to ourselves as it was only my partner and I that had booked on that morning. Brian was super friendly from the start, gave clear and simple instructions on how to get in to the supplied equipment, which was very well maintained. Throughout the experience, Brian’s instructions and guidance on how to navigate each obstacle made the much easier and thoroughly enjoyable. He even gave us a little history lesson on the old graphite mines that the canyon runs through. Big shout out to Emma too, Brian’s wife and business partner who also does the activities, for preparing the hot chocolate and homemade brownies for us after the once we’re dry and changed. We will 100% be looking to book on to another with them in the future. Amazing with Brian and Emma; couldn’t have asked for any more, they made the whole fun and exciting! They gave clear instructions and lots of encouragement throughout; even provided us with home made brownies and hot chocolate to finish off! Great few hours ghyll scrambling. Large Group of us aged 9-52, Emma and Brian gave us options for all ages / abilities, great guides, great day out, everyone really enjoyed it, highly recommended, 🙏 We were a party of one adult and three eleven year old boys. The ghyll scrambling was in the middle of our trip and all three of them said it was the best thing we did in the Lake District. Brian was great from start to finish, he made all of us feel safe throughout the adventure. Even the most cautious of the boys did everything, apart from sliding upside down backwards into a pool. I would highly recommend this unique for anyone who likes playing around in water outdoors.
