Well done museum that gives a good overview of the town and area's history. At first I was a bit confused when they gave out headphone with a plug. But the purpose became apparent soon enough at one of the terminals where they recorded some fascinating interviews with townsfolk who were around during the war - usually as kids but in one case a survivor of Stalingrad. While the 2nd and 3rd floors focus on World War 2 and the aftermath the ground floor has some fun exhibits on the towns in the middle ages and before. Well worth the cost of admission. I only wish it didn't close before 17:00. Also has a very fun section on Elvis's army time in Germany. So much information, so little time. I thoroughly enjoyed visiting the site as well as the area. I didn't feel uncomfortable at all...the area is walker-friendly and people are kind. Really interesting small museum explaining the origins of the military training area. We had a guide who has shared with us lot of details and made our visit unforgettable. Thank you! The museum looks small but it's actually 4 stories high and 2 separate buildings . Alot to see and the whole elvis collection is very nice. They have a court where you can hang out in between the two buildings and it's very well maintained. It's huge, it looks at first like a small collection. Lots of and not just local. And the personal stories are especially interesting. Lots to read, many floors and areas. Amazing museum. As many have said, don't be fooled by the small exterior. There is a ton here. We got there just after opening and stayed until closing and easily could have done at least one more day.
