We loved shooting down the canoe ‘lane’ next to the weir! Absolutely sympathetic people assisting you with any outdoor activity you can do in the area. Kajak, hiking, climbing.... The garden around the house hosts some free activities like table tennis and table football, some relaxing chairs, hammocks and picknick tables. With small kids you could even spend a day in the recreational area, there is also a climbing device with a slide. And the best fries of the Region, maybe even France. ;-) Have been here twice whilst on holiday. The staff at the rental centre are very friendly and speak really good English. The canoe journey was quite scenic and wasn't particularly challenging. Some great wildlife to be seen such as birds of prey and herons. There is a Brilliant little place to stop and get refreshments about 45 minutes paddle from the finishing point. We had an awesome day canoeing on the river Cele, with thanks to the lovely staff who made the trip informative and fun, if you like seeing nature up close and personal then this is the activity for you, we saw Herons, Kingfishers, dragonflies and numerous fish, we even think we heard otters but they were too crafty to be seen. They offer varying trip lengths for all abilities, we went for the 13.3 kilometre trip which is roughly three and a half hours without stops but its not a race as they're open till 18.30 great fun and thank you Always friendly always helpful. We been coming here for twenty years for my idea of a perfect afternoon, sometimes just the two of us gently paddling down the beautiful Célé sometimes with family and friends on more sociable occasions and stopping off for a swim before the last leg . It is the highlight of my year, I am only disappointed on the very rare occasion that I don't see a kingfisher. Came here in 2019 enjoyed the canoeing very much wish we had done a longer paddle. Coming to the area again this year and looking forward to doing a longer one this time,may even do it twice.
