One of the Best Places To Visits in Espère Top-rated.online cuts through the clutter, highlighting only the reviews that are most helpful, earn the most likes, or come from the most active contributors. Great transport café, very good value with a lunchtime fixed menu. It's also a bar, tabac/presse. Friendly service, even when busy. Super Popped in for dinner while staying nearby. There is no choice of menu but we were happy with that as no special dietary needs. €18 for 4 courses and local wine. Really friendly and prompt service. Location is basic but good local food and service. Foods descent showers and toilets good friendly staff will call again Esperance means hope and you can expect to abandon all hope if you dare to visit this restaurant. I can confidently say that after 20 years of living in france this is the worst meal I have ever been expected to eat. There was no menu or choice so suffer what you are given. The atmosphere and ambiance reminded me of post war school dinners with the "eat it up or else--- attitude. I was there for a little celebration lunch with 2 companions . One piece of bread each was rationed for the entree, a spoonful of cold rice and 2 very thin pieces of preserved sausage..I went without the meat ,being vegetarian.. The main course wasn't suitable for my companions who don't like offal but they were content with the replacement confit de canard although they had no vegetables to eat with it. I was given a large bowl of lettuce.I ate a few of the leaves that weren't damaged, accompanied by another piece of dry bread. Sometime later 2 very thin rubbery pieces of cheese were offered and it was suggested that I might like a potato pie with some meat and white sauce in it. A very messy looking concoction. We decided not to risk the desert as the service was so slow ,we had suffered enough and we had an appointment . That gourmet treat set us back 15 euros each person. For me that was a very expensive lettuce and my companions also felt cheated. Better to have bought sandwiches in the supermarket nearby! Be aware that disabled access to the upstairs is difficult so be sure to book a table downstairs where you will be treated to continuous TV sport. Great little lunch stop. Good honest food, home cooked and 4 courses for 13 Euro. Inc wine and coffee. Top Excellent lunch, generous helpings, helpful and cheerful staff. Thank you!!!
