As quite regular visitors with friends to the Estuary Bar it was - yet again - disappointing that the find it necessary to "clean up and cash up" at 8.30 ready for the 9pm (yes! 9pm!!) close. Its not very welcoming to say the least... Great Gelato and cakes, a little pricey, but a nice treat. Becoming a victim of own success, as at times the are over whelmed by demand and there can be a long wait at till, and then again to receive order. Avoid the peak 11 am rush if time is tight. Fabulous bistro with friendly welcoming and tasty food at a reasonable price. Lovely location, plenty of outdoor seating and it's dog friendly. Party of 9 and all served hot food at the same time. Visited with family for tapas on Saturday night to celebrate a birthday. Beautiful food (give my thanks to the chefs!) and great service. Would like to thank Keith and the wonderful James, Olivia, and Emily for making our visit especially wonderful. Will be visiting again! We often stay in the Gower area to visit family and this is by far our favourite hotel in the area. Clean, modern, very comfortable beds with stunning views across the Estuary from the balcony. The tapas is easily the best we’ve had outside of Spain, beautifully presented and each dish packed with flavour. The general manager Emma was so helpful and friendly, really made us feel at home. The continental breakfast set us up for the day (sourdough toast and coffee not pictured) but next time we will definitely try the cooked breakfast as it looked delicious. Today six of us came for Sunday lunch for my dad’s birthday. We have been to the Estuary multiple times before and have always spoken about how amazing the service and food is. Our visit today was completely opposite. We were greeted today with a cold welcome by two younger who made us feel it was a burden us being there. There wasn’t a smile between them. We are usually greeted by a mature woman who can never do enough for you and always greets you with a warm welcome. I believe her name is Emma but she wasn’t there today. We sat down and ordered drinks whilst we waited for the others to arrive. After everyone arrived the waitress came over to take the order which was fine. Starters came and they were lovely as usual. We finished our starters and nobody came to clear our plates until the mains came, nor did they even come over and check if anybody wanted drinks. When the mains arrived they brought a small silver plate of veg which was enough for two people. We waited a few minutes as we thought they were going to bring another plate of veg over but nobody did. My wife asked if our veg was coming and the waiter had a very poor attitude and looked at us although we were asking her something out of ordinary. Bear in mind we’ve been to the estuary for Sunday lunch previously and have always had plenty of veg provided and Emma would always come over to check if we wanted more veg or gravy. It was such a shame not all the working there are like Emma’s first class standard. The waitress did bring the veg over five minutes later but with an attitude whilst doing so. Our experience today has really changed our mind on the estuary and feel some of the younger people in the hospitality industry need to learn how to get some manners. There was no excuse for it today as it wasn’t busy. I recognise everyone has bad days but it was just rude. We had an amazing wedding reception in June thanks to The Estuary. The marquee was ideal for our number of guests and was just what we had been looking for and was decorated beautifully. From delicious food to friendly staff, we count have wishes for anywhere better. Helen, Adam, and all the team were so helpful in the planning process and on the big day. Our guests loved the roast just as we did after we tried it on a Sunday. We really recommend The Estuary for anyone planning an event.
