Our visit to Skanda Vale was a soul-touching experience, and I owe the discovery of this beautiful place to my friend, mentor, and guru, Balaji Sir. We started early from High Wycombe and reached in about 3.5 hours. The drive itself was serene, passing through lush greenery and open skies. Crossing the Prince of Wales Bridge was a highlight in itself—majestic and scenic, it set the tone for the rest of the journey. Skanda Vale isn’t your usual place of worship. It’s a retreat nestled in the hills of Wales. We arrived just in time for the 9:30 AM puja. To our surprise and delight, it was a grand, elaborate puja that lasted nearly two hours. The priest chanted the mantras with clarity and devotion that filled the temple with energy and focus. The ceremony honored a wide range of deities. We witnessed prayers and offerings to: • Lord Murugan (Skanda) • Lord Vishnu • Lord Shiva • Lord Rama • Goddess Durga • Goddess Kali • Lord Ganesh • Hanuman • Dattatreya • Shirdi Sai Baba Each shrine was carefully maintained, and every part of the puja had meaning and depth. The setting itself is unique—Skanda Vale is surrounded by forests, hills, and streams. It felt like a blend of pilgrimage and retreat. What struck me most was the discipline and devotion of the volunteers. Everything was done with sincerity, from the rituals to the prasadam distribution. This was not just a visit—it was a reset. Skanda Vale reminded us of the power of stillness, devotion, and community service. If you are in the UK and looking for a true experience, this is one of the most powerful and authentic places to go. I would highly recommend reaching in time for the morning puja. It sets the tone for your entire visit. Thank you once again to Balaji Sir for this recommendation. It will stay with us for a long time.
