Expensive local produce but this type of place is not where you go for a bargain, it's to support the local community. The cheese cupboard is very unique, the butcher just looks at you are you buying or not! The best you could hope to find. Been there for years & the quality remains as as ever. Their Old English sausages are sensational! The is also excellent. Excellent which was well stocked with local produce…good range of meat and a wonderful cheese room. Lovely selection of wines - friendly and informative staff. Full disability access throughout and disabled parking spaces. Also a on site - we didn’t use but it was busy! Highly recommend the shop!! Great food, excellent service We were delighted with our lunchtime visit here. The were really welcoming and went beyond what you could wish for. Lovely home cooked meals - lasagne was especially good. Lovely with some great local produce. Treats for pets. Beer and cider. Even a little refrigerated cheese room. A little expensive but worth a visit.. Are regular monthly visit, food is great especially omelette, all day or ploughman's. A slight hiccup in visiting this time, but the made amends and fixed the situation. quality meat and produce, nice friendly staff. Fantastic little shop, huge range of products on offer and the pies are the best I've ever had (made in the factory next door) Excellent at a price. The were lovely. You really can't find gems like this very often...thank you! After having a lovely drive round, we decided to stop off at Thorners for some lunch. There was a bit of a queue for food. It a small place and was very busy already, with most of the tables either occupied or with reservations, there was just one two-seater table left, which had a customers bag on it. (I wouldn't even give 1 star for this establishment). Feeling frustrated, we popped next door into the itself, and purchased 2 meal deals from the fridge (pasty, crisp and drink), which was actually cheaper than if we had been successful in eating the meal in the cafe. Although we had to sit in the car to eat our food, then went back inside the shop. They have a range of products and the were quite friendly. My friend and I booked for breakfast. We had full and coffee. Great service and excellent food. Well done & thankyou. Keith Rudyard Lovely food, the meat selection is grand, lots of choice, dairy and milkshakes too! Great who will always help you if you need advice. Its a little pricey compared to supermarkets, but it's a so if you expect supermarket prices, go to a supermarket. Had the ultimate breakfast.. Cooked to perfection, Really nice, Great tasting sausages ,bacon and hash browns..Baked beans were nice (don't normally like beans) eggs weren't over cooked... definitely will come again!! Lovely with a great selection of meats and food items. My favourites are the steak & kidney pies, quiches and sausages. There is also a wide selection of reasonably-priced frozen meals. I saw that there was a fresh milk station, frozen baked goods station, ice creams, dry pantry goods etc. After your shopping, pop into the next door for a cuppa and a bite. A lack of veggie options in the is a disappointment although they will allow substitutions in snacks such as Paninis. Everything was well cooked and the coffee was very good. More veggie options please. The is well stocked and some items are competitively priced with other local prices. Go elsewhere! Waited over 40 minutes to be served for breakfast, asked for a menu and if we could order at the counter but we were told they’d come to the table. We were then ignored for 40 minutes so left, and thought we’d buy in the to take home. Bought raspberries for nearly £4(!) and they were mouldy! Contacted the to inform them they are selling mouldy fruit but they aren’t interested whatsoever.
