We came here for on a miserable wet Sunday morning in January. Situated within an excellent garden center this place instantly brightened up our morning. The dining room is light and looks out over impressive garden displays. The menu offers a very good selection of dishes made from quantity local produce. Decent coffee and fresh fruit juices washed down a mammoth 'Big Breakfast'. It's true that you can get a generic cooked from a pub chain for less but this really is a case of over quantity. I won't need to eat again today! Highly recommended. Update in April 2025: my friend and I still come here for coffee and and it’s still good. The full English is excellent and more than enough. I particularly like the cherry tomatoes that I think are oven cooked. They are juicy with very intense flavour. This is a lovely café set within a garden centre. The cakes and coffee are excellent and I never really know what to have - too much to choose from! Breakfasts here are good too. There is a mix of seating, blending between indoors and outdoors, so you can find somewhere just right. It’s also nice to wander around the garden centre afterwards and browse the plants. I buy herbs here for the kitchen and they’ve all flourished in the garden at home so far. My friend and I have even done a bit of ‘bird spotting’ here. Sightings so far include buzzards, a sparrow hawk, chiffchaff, red kites, and a very friendly local robin - he doesn’t need any cake! By far my favourite brunch spot in Trowbridge. You can tell so much thought goes into the designing of the menu, the presentation and taste. Through the years the has never wavered, even when accommodating larger numbers of customers. The service is great. Being gluten free and having tea provided without qualm and to such a great standard is amazing. (Pre ordered). The festive tea was unreal!! Most enjoyable food experience I had all through the Christmas period! The thick halloumi on the breakfasts is a must! The coronation chicken sandwich I was stunned to find out contained poppadum and mango chutney 🤯 The cake counters and always full and the doughnuts looks amazing I wish I could have one so bad. They do an amazing job here 💚 Quite possibly the best place ever for breakfast/brunch. We turned up as a group of 8 on a hen weekend. There were no tables big enough to accommodate us but we waited a quick 10 mins and the lovely went out their way to move tables so we could all sit together. Also I wanted an item that was advertised as being available after 11:45, but they let me have it early at 11:15. So accommodating and friendly. And the food as absolutely amazing. Loads of veggie options but not your normal standard boring ones. I cannot wait to visit again! Thank you. Wow what can I say other than one of the best breakfasts I have ever had. I visited today and was super impressed with the quality, presentation and most importantly- taste of all the items in the tea. Everything was super tasty! Would definitely recommend! My first (but not last!) visit was for a works Xmas tea. I remain amazed by the and quantity of the food and the exceptional kindness of the staff. They were very busy but took the time and effort to explain my vegan version of the set menu. Both myself and my omnivore colleagues had a wonderful time and we left happy, impressed and keen to return. Thank you Avonfield for such a memorable meal. I don’t usually leave reviews, but I feel like Avonfield Kitchen truly deserves one! We were recommended this place by lots of friends and family, and it definitely lived up to its fantastic reputation. I visited with my wife and children, and everything was excellent from start to finish. The were brilliant with the kids (they absolutely loved the milkshakes!), and the was outstanding, top and far better than anywhere else around. It’s easy to see why this place has such a great reputation, We’ll definitely be back! I visit here a lot with family and friends and EVERYTIME the food is incredible and are super friendly and happy. More recently Becky and the team organised a Christmas tea surprise for my mums 70th birthday and it was amazing. I would highly recommend the tea, but the veggie haystack, cakes, coffee are all delicious and best around. I cannot recommend this place and the highly enough (and we have no connection to anyone- just really love it!) Thank you! The were super friendly and helpful. The food was delicious with lots of options. It is quite small inside so can get quite loud and at busy times might find it hard to park in the car park. We went today for the festive tea. It was absolutely incredible!! I can’t speak highly enough of the of food and the service is second to none. We accidentally arrived 40mins earlier and were more than accommodating even serving the food much earlier than they had planned. We were very grateful and had a wonderful time. We love Avonfield!
