Still beautiful. So a couple of things went wrong in the service, flat water into sparkling glass, not replaced, small spilling and then not cleaned from the table, dusty glasses after requesting a different set of glasses, but nothing major, just not perfect at all. The food all 4 of us agreed on, was 80/20. 80% fantastic, such as the bread, the olive oil, the first view dishes etc. The pigeon was a bit weird and the beef tataki was not as tender as hope for. Wine suggestion and selection was great. Le Charlemagne delivers a confident and thoughtful culinary that reflects both strong technique and a clear respect for local products. Chef Rudy Villien’s approach is elegant without excess, and the tasting is structured with intention and balance. The progression of the dishes feels harmonious. The foie gras with beetroot, fig, arugula and yuzu is refined and surprisingly light, setting an impressive tone for the rest of the evening. The bluefin tuna, paired with celery, dengaku and curry, is one of the highlights: precise, clean flavours with an understated depth. The scallops and the veal from the Clavisy Farm also demonstrate careful execution and consistency, each plated with attention to texture and contrast. Service is professional and observant, leaning slightly on the reserved side, but always responsive when needed. The pairing is well calibrated and enhances the dishes without overwhelming them. The team’s commitment to local producers is evident and adds an additional layer of meaning to the menu. Even the smallest details — from the aperitif bites to the transition into dessert — are handled with clarity and intention. The dessert centred around pear, chocolate and coffee closes the on a sophisticated and memorable note. Overall, Le Charlemagne offers a mature, well-composed dining experience, where creativity is guided by respect for ingredients rather than theatrics. A strong and thoughtful Michelin-level meal. A splendid dining among the vineyards of Burgundy. Choose between 4/5/6 course tasting menu. Vegetarian options were made available on request. Utmost care was taken to prepare and present every dish. Impeccable too. Get the chef's table for an inside look into the kitchen. Certainly! One of my favorite one star restaurant. It located in a middle of vineyard, where you can enjoy your meal with a beautiful scenery. The dishes are pretty innovative, you can feel some Oriental combination there. The was also great, very attentive and friendly waitresses. Overall, we would comeback again for the meal and also cooking course! Best the view it’s amazing food it’s so good it’s and price its not to expensive because you get a lot. Dined late November did the €115 glad we did this instead of spending more. Food wasn’t really worth it. Food: 👍Foie gras was excellent. Paired well with the house bread 🥖 👎Bluefin tuna 🐠 was extremely fishy, salty and therefore not fresh. So was the puree. It was like they dumped the entire jar of salt 🧂 marinating this dish. I myself eat quite salty yet I could not take another bite. At this point I lost appetite already. Comes the beef filet I was just glad it was cooked properly, though lack of taste. 👍Cheese and dessert were good but average nothing unique or extraordinary. Wine list is extensive, but expensive by glass. Overall taste and texture fell short. Great location, great service, and a consistently set of courses in our 5- course selection. Very rarely have I seen this kind of consistency across every course. As always, an experience. Wonderful view on the vineyards of the Corton hill. Fantastic food with local base products and yet for every preparation that subtle Japanese influence. And not to forget: an impressive list! Le Charlemagne delivers a dining that transcends expectations. The was impeccable—attentive, knowledgeable, and genuinely warm, creating an atmosphere of refined hospitality. The (découverte & sensation )with the pairing was nothing short of inspiring, with each course an elegant fusion of flavours, perfectly complemented by expertly chosen wines. Every dish was a work of art, both visually stunning and bursting with creativity. It’s rare to find a that strikes such a perfect balance between culinary innovation and impeccable service, but Le Charlemagne does so with ease. An unforgettable from start to finish. Special thanks to Chef Rudy for our unique experience. Thanks as well to Emmanuel for the and shared knowledge! À la prochaine! What a story you made up. We entered the at 7pm and left at 11:30. If you said we finished 7 dishes within 1.5 hours, that means the appetizers took 3 hours?! In the previous response you said there's no Asian spices used, and now you said you're a french-japenese restaurant.... Well, maybe Japan is not Asian. Btw, I am fully aware what miso etc are. Too many lies in your response. But I don't want to waste my time for further comments. Not worthy. Btw, if you wish to communicate privately, maybe you should consider to alter your response in a more positive and polite manner. ******************* Of course, I was in your restaurant! Do you want me to show the receipt and reservation?! A good should listen to any comments from the customer, no matter good or bad. How you responded to my comment, just reflects the level of your service. Regarding the Asian spice, how did you season the scallop carpaccio? Thai spice is not Asian ??????? Are Miso and Umibudo not Asian? Do be ridiculous. ***************** Unsatisfactory service, not attentive at all and very slow. Dishes were either very salty or terribly seasoned with Asian spices. Not worthy of any Star! Well. Absolutely excellent! The tasting surprised, delivered and left us happy. The pairing was out of this world. was impeccable but on the reserved side, however that’s more about what you prefer than quality it self. Ambience was beautiful and calm but maybe a bit stiff. There is a reason this place is Michelin rated. The food was absolutely incredible and the superb. You can tell everyone loves their job and they’re so proud of the food. It’s truly a one of a kind I’ll never forget. Wonderful dinner with delicious wines recommended by an sommelier. Japanese influenced French cooking gives it a beautiful lightness. Charming service. Plus a quick walk to our bedroom in a comfortable apartment for rent above the restaurant. Nice location in the vineyards. Very friendly staff. Atmospheric dining room. The Signature in 7 courses plus quite a few amuses was very nice overall and some courses were most surprising wrt complex aroms & creativity! Good value for money. Sufficient parking parking space. A place to recommend! The food, the ambiance, and the go far beyond the current 1 star rating. I would expect at least 2 stars if not more in Le Charlemagne's future. Everything was creative, delicious, and well timed. The sommelier was exceptional and the list much more extensive than our last visit 9 months ago. Eating at Le Charlemagne was a great experience. We took the ‘Decouverte’ and we were super full by the end of the day. Flavours were amazing. If you go there, and you want to enjoy, be aware that it takes time to get each meal, have a short but nice explanation and eat while you speak with your family/friends. We stayed there for around 5 hours. Staff is super nice and they pay attention to the detail. They make sure that your goes smoothly since you book till you leave. It was the birthday of my partner and he expressed it was an amazing gift! Plus, the offered a little ‘gateau’. Amazing food, great choice of flavor combos from the chef and lots of good surprises! Very nice staff who tried to explain everything in English for us. We all enjoyed the here dining and looking over the vineyard.
