Be careful, we went in and the gate was accidentally closed behind us. WE WERE TRAPPED IN THE CAVE FOR OVER AN HOUR!!. The other guide, Piero, left with a lady so no one to let us out. No safety measures, no spare key, no 2 way radios, nothing. The gate locks automatically on closure. This was very concerning, if you go, make sure there are some safety measures, or you may be stuck overnight. Cool (in every sense) huge caves really fascinating beauty. Percorso con passerelle all'inizio, ben illuminato, si prosegue camminando sui sassi seguendo la grotta ed utilizzando le luci sul caschetto. Esperienza che vale sicuramente la pena. Sarebbe da fare anche il percorso più difficile, quello speleologico, appena il fisico me lo permette lo farò. Grazie tante! Our guide, Francesco, was very friendly and knowledgeable, telling us the cave's history and explaining the amazing geological features and the interesting work and research carried out over the last hundred years. We did the percorso turistico, which is fully accessible and dog-friendly (the metal walkway is covered in carpet so it's even comfortable for their paws!). The only way it could have been improved for us was to offer a tour in English, since only one of us spoke Italian, so had to translate for the other. Highly recommended, and I will probably return for the percorso speleologico turistico, which looks like a lot of fun. I’m sure the grotto is great, but make sure you call ahead to book a English tour guide. You can not go in without a guide! Esperienza bellissima!
