My wife and I have been going to the Italian Bar for five years. We live in Sulmona full-time. We come for morning coffee to having lunch and evening wine with appetizers. I usually order Caffè americano doppio in the morning. It surly is not what it was in the past. It's more like a weak expresso. We have seen many staff changes, especially the morning staff. We are a bit disappointed in the present morning staff. They are slow, and the tables and chairs will have crumbs on them from the previous customer. The outside pavers are littered with cigarette butts and trash. I realize this is a festive time. However, why can't the grounds (pavers) be swept before the night shift goes home. It's the minor details that will make the biggest impression. Especially since we are in the height of our tourist season. We will try a couple of more times to see if any changes have been made. Great food, nice place Great meats and veggies, a bit misleading menu, where gnocchi are called pasta, but the meat is really fantastic The caprese and pasta with yellow tomato sauce were both delicious. I had dinner at IB with my wife and the pasta was delicious (ravioli and paccheri). The red wine we tried was lovely and the service was great with relaxing background music. We went back a 2nd time. Great night. Went for lunch! Had delishious pinche with cheese and tomatoes and it was the best crust and very tasty topping, so simple but so good! Drinks are great and the service is lovely! This place is good for dinner lunch and coffee or drinks! We will be back. Coffee is very well made. For the last two years when we visit this has been one of our go to places. Nice wine selection and food items. They make a great limoncello spritzer! The staff is friendly and knowledgeable about the area. Next time we visit we will have to check out their summer location!
