A must see if you’re in the area. One of the most beautiful place in Abruzzo! From the way you have to drive thru till the top of the mountain, everything deserve to be experienced! Amazing landscapes and breathless view on the famous lake, a medium level tracking walk called "the heart pathway", bring you right at the point where you would see the heart-shape of the lake, and from there you could follow till a small town close to there. Just before the Scanno lake, you find the San Domenico that is spectacular too! You can decide to have a pic-nic sourrended by nature or at the chalet, or even, visiting one of the great towns around there! You will be lucky if you cross some deers! It doesn't matter what season you go there, it always worth it! If you are near you should visit this place. Its very beautifull. Very friendly staff but the food was bellow expectations... we took the menu of the day at 15euros. The price was low, but the quality of the dishes was disappointing... the backed potatoes were prepared minimum 3 hours before being served, they were cold, hard and the taste... no words... As you drive along there are a couple of stops where you can park on the road and enjoy a blue flag bathing area. Normally there is a cafe, where you can have coffee, sandwiches and aperitivo.
