It’s only a but it’s not overkill and too big which can get boring. It’s but covers everything with large screen videos, interactive quizzes and screens you can navigate to find out about the history of the turtles. I didn’t expect much but was really really impressed. Entry is FREE so please please any visitors spend a few euro and buy something from the selection of gifts to help this place survive, there’s also a tip box on reception which I’d also recommend dropping a bit of money in to. The guy who I presume runs the place is a really nice, genuine and chatty guy and if you are reading this make sure to put on your Facebook page when you get the aquarium sorted. We only popped in almost by accident as we were on our way to the airport home, and I’m so glad we did. Very informative video presentation, and lots of interactive screens in what is quite a compact but well used space. The chap in charge on the day we went is a marine biologist who actually carries out the crucial work monitoring, studying and protecting the severely endangered green - he actually offered to take us down to the beach to see the work but we had a plane to catch …! He was telling us that the centre is due to expand shortly, and that getting visitors involved is going to be a big feature from next year, which sounds fantastic. It’s free to get in but leave a generous donation to support the great work being done :-) A very but interesting and beautiful with free entrance. You can see preserved turtles, read about them, and it’s definitely worth watching the short film about them on the projector. It’s a great experience for both children and adults. Since the entrance is free, we bought some souvenirs on the way out. Little free talking about turtle conservation. We watched couple of documentaries and done some fun quizzes. Nice way to spend half an hour if you're in the area. A fantastic little museum! I highly recommend visiting if you are in the local area. The guide was friendly and helpful and began our visit by playing 2 informational videos. We then spend some time viewing the exhibition. There are a few interactive games and colouring for children, and best of all the was completely free. We're so glad we stopped by on our way through. The is set to expand next year with tours to view turtle nests and hatches on Lara beach. Gorgeous little museum. Pambos, who runs the museum, showed my friend and I around. We learned a lot about and had a nice chat with him. It's very small, but you can really see all of the work that goes into maintaining the museum. Also, Pambos told us that the will be expanded soon and will even include an aquarium (without in it though) sometime next year!
