It feels more like a boutique hotel than a hut and at the same it is a great place to unwind after a long day of hiking. We had a family room which is expensive, but also comes with two separate bedrooms, a sink and even a shower. That's definitely where the hotel experience comes into play. A downside is that the windows in the upper bedroom open to the hallways which can be crowded (perhaps as an overflow for additional overnight guests). We heard some complaints from other about limited facilities. The food was and plenty of options for everybody. Some of the waiting staff were still learning, but overall not a big deal. Breakfast start was a bit chaotic with a long line starting at the stairs. A different setup (e.g. an island where can approach from two sides) would help to avoid queueing. Overall we were very pleased with our stay. Yes, it's different from a smaller hut high up in the mountains, but I would definitely recommend this hut for who do their first trekking or who prefer a bit more luxury. There are plenty of options nearby (within 4 hours of walking) that are more remote, more intimate and have more of an alpine hut feel. One example is the Santnerpass Hut which is run by family of the owner of the Tierser Alpl hut. I was there for the third time. I really like rebuilt modern clean huts with smart support for mountaineers. I appreciated drying room a lot. They always offered a great food and drinks. This I was little bit disappointed. Of course It's expected it will be overcrowded because position of the hut is just great, really amazing views. Young guy brought us something different than we order and didn't even ask to replace the order. Juts asked if it's OK to keep it like this. Well, I agreed with this finally. Later on we were paying to other guy who was not smelling good. Also don't expect speak Italian at this place... There is also luck of toilets and bathroom is not cleaned often. I am always surprised by prices. It's just too much this time. Also deposit 100 EUR for 2 is enough. I understand it's not Alpenverein, but next I rather go to somewhere for better prices. One week hiking around Dolomites became to be very expensive for two people. I suggest visit Arco and surrounded areas. We stayed here with a group for dinner, an overnight stay, and breakfast — and I have to say, I would never return. Reading the many excellent reviews, I get the impression they mostly come from day tourists who don’t stay the night. But for those of us who actually spend here, the experience feels more like a half-hotel than a true hut. The prices are extremely high: €100 per person per night, and on top of that, you have to pay €5 (!) in cash for a 3-minute shower. Other huts in the area are not only more affordable but also located higher and offer a more authentic alpine experience. This was by far the most expensive hut during our six-day trekking tour, yet offered the least value for money. Facilities are limited for the number of they accommodate: there are only 6 toilets total for both men and women, and just 4 shared showers: 2 for men and 2 for women. At this price point, that feels unreasonable. The atmosphere lacks soul or passion — it feels like pure commercialization. The food presentation (see photos) speaks for itself. Breakfast was tasty, but you’ll need to queue up just to get it, which is not ideal when you’re on a schedule. The staff, while young and energetic, often seemed undertrained and slightly arrogant. Our drinks were served only after the food had already arrived, small requests were simply forgotten, and there was an unnecessary push to upsell special wines — all of which point to a lack of basic service coordination. One of the strangest aspects: we slept in a room with a window that opened into the hallway — with other literally sleeping in that same hallway on the ground! That’s just bizarre. I understand that owners need to earn a living, but this place feels like it’s lost touch with what a hut should be. The whole experience has the feel of mass production — efficient, impersonal, and designed to push as many through just to earn as much as possible. If you’re in physical shape, you’re much better off hiking a bit further to one of the higher, more genuine refuges nearby. The rooms were really cute and clean. Food especially the breakfat was extraordinary - their selfmade buckwheatbread was to die for (also the marble cake though) As others have said, it is a luxurious hut compared to others in the Dolomites. It doesn’t come at much higher of a price than others huts. The food in itself pays the price difference. Their food is traditional, hearty, and absolutely delicious. For someone who wants a stay that is a bit more luxurious or who loves food - this is the hut for you Gorgeous restaurant while hiking the Dolomites. Didn't stay so cannot comment on rooms but restaurant and location is spectacular. Food is very high quality and delicious. Booked a room many months ahead and arrived to the hut shortly after 19 o'clock to be informed that the half board dinner had passed. Unfortunately this dinner wasn't communicated to us through email or on the website. We could only order from the a la carte where 70% of the menu was out of stock. It doesn't make sense to not count in food for who've booked accommodation. This wouldn't have been a big deal if the staff serving dinner wasn't extremely rude. Wouldn't recommend this rifugio if you're looking for a warm and welcoming end to a long day's hike. The breakfast was good, hence the 2 stars. A “luxury” hut in the area for sure, though the staff was at times overwhelmed and inexperienced. Felt like a teenage summer camp staff. A surprise snow storm came through minutes after reaching this hut and after having done several hours of hiking in the rain, the boot dryers here were a godsend. The heater in the room was also very appreciated. Not many bathrooms for the volume of they accommodate and hot showers are €5. But overall this was the nicest hut by far that we stayed in for our 4 day hike. Would come again if I was in the area. This is not a hut/ Rifugio but a commercial hotel. No spirit, no soul, no empathy.. Seeing getting refused a roof in bad weather conditions during the night. And let them bivac in emergency blankets outside, while they could sleep inside on the floor, for example.. big thumbs down🤬 Sad to see, because this hut used to be amazing back in the days.
