A must see in Gersthofen and one of the few balloon flight museums in Europe based on the long tradition of riding ballons in Gersthofen. Always interesting exhibitions as well; e.g. Leonardo da Vinci in 2022. Slow Sunday afternoon so not much else to do but we found the balloon very interesting. Lovely building with excellent guides and exhibits. Surprisingly informative. Nicely laid out taking you through the history of ballooning. We used the audio guide but were very confused by the directions and the floor arrows. Contains some interesting stuff and stories. All of the narratives are in German language only which makes it difficult unless you can read it or have a translator Small but interesting with a real baloon being installed, suitable for families. 6€ a ticket. Tickets available for EC card or cash. Der Matthias Egersdörfer war genial gut, bekannt griesgrämig, echauffiert sich auf Fränkisch, hat aber was Feinfühliges, z. T. Surreales, da denkt man an den Karl Valentin…wirklich erlebenswert und im Ballonmuseum eine sehr familiäre Stimmung, da nicht zu groß 👍👍👍 Nette Leute. Wir hatten für unsere kleine Familie eine Führung gebucht, die es auch wert war. Umfassende Ausstellung in der auch technisch schon etwas Erfahrenere mit Aha-Informationen überrascht werden. Nebenan ist die Stadtbibliothek, für Leseratten, oder die, die es noch werden wollen.
