Took the Inklings Tour, which turned out to be a 3 hour walk with just the 2 of us and the guide. The had more content about the Oxford colleges than the Inklings per se, since there appeared to be not much more than what we had already learned online about Lewis & Tolkien. It was somewhat disappointing to not be able to learn more about the authors as people, the main reason for this tour: it appeared that most of their lives came to life in their written works. But it was good to physicially see the poem by CS Lewis on Addison Walk, to learn about his religious conversion thanks in part to Tolkien's advocacy & persuasion, as well as walk the colleges where each attended & taught. We had already taken the Oxford University by Student (mostly) or Alum the previous day, so some of the stuff was a repeat. But truly enjoyed walking throughout Magdalen College, IMO the most beautiful of all the colleges. Sorry... most of my pics were taken with a 35mm camera, so what I post here are just a few snap shots taken by cell on our walk. What a day with Tom our guide. He made our day in Oxford come alive with his extensive commentary on Oxford history. We selected the Morse/Endeavor/Lewis but got so much more. Can’t Tom and Visig Oxford Tours enough. Well done! We enjoyed our Inklings and of Oxford with Tom today. He is so knowledgeable and communicates well. He kept us moving for over 3.5 hours! Since it was our only opportunity to visit the sights of Oxford and hear about CS Lewis, JRR Tolkien and their cohort of writers, we greatly appreciated the thoroughness. We are inspired to read more about all we saw and heard. I took the with some friends and the was excellent. I got more insights than what I expected and enjoyed every minutes of it. The was excellent and knowledgeable being an Oxford alumni himself. I highly the tour. Visited Oxford in mid October with my fifteen year old daughter, her friend and his dad enjoyed a fabulous private with Peter. The was fascinating, comprehensive and entertaining. We learned lots about the of the university, the college structure and how the applications process worked. Peter even brought along some snacks to keep our gray matter fueled. Very friendly and informative and would highly recommend! Many thanks! A Truly Magical Experience – Highly Recommended! Wow, I was a little hesitant about booking this walking tour, there are so many Harry Potter operators out there! But honestly, this was absolutely amazing and exceeded all my expectations. It was definitely worth the and money. Our guide, Michiel, was absolutely fantastic. He's seriously knowledgeable, and he shared so many fascinating insights into how Oxford's and architecture inspired J.K. Rowling while she was writing the books. It wasn't just a list of filming locations; Michiel kept the whole experience super engaging and kept our interest high the entire time. I can't this enough! (re: Oxford Harry Potter Insights - Divinity School public tour) We had Peter for our Oxford with a focus on CS Lewis and JRR Tolkien. He was an awesome and took to tell us about historic places and details about the life of the two authors. He engaged with our teen children and had some treats for them as well and went above and beyond to ensure that we had a and unforgettable experience at Oxford. We highly this company for fun and educational family tours. Tom is so knowledgeable and so nice. We took the today and really enjoyed it. Tom shared a wealth of knowledge about Morse, Endeavor and Lewis. In addition we also got amazing stories about Tolkien, C.S Lewis & Lewis Carroll and learned so much about the of Oxford. My wife has a vast knowledge about all three of the shows and Tom provided insights and showed up some of the key locations of the shows she is so familiar with. She was delighted. My daughter and I got the for her as a Christmas gift and after we left the she said this was her favorite gift this year. She wants to come back for another tour. Highly recommend. Thanks to the professionalism of our wonderful Ray, we had a memorable time. He asked us questions to fully adapt to our interests, which were particularly directed towards Tolkien, personalizing the with skill, pointing out whenever he could interesting details that we would not have found on our own, with many explanations as surprising as they were fascinating. He has enormous knowledge that he knows how to synthesize and interpret intelligently, and undeniable teaching qualities. Dynamic, cheerful, friendly, he is a fascinating and passionate storyteller who knows how to create suspense throughout the and keep us interested. He gave us to take the photos we wanted and took us to places we would not have found, always with funny anecdotes or interesting information. Thank you Ray for this wonderful time. We also followed the Harry Potter with Sebastian, who was a connoisseur of his subject. It was fun to explore JK Rowling's inspirations around the city with a friendly, smiling guide. I can only I Love Oxford Tours. Tom was incredible. My kids said he was like a human encyclopedia! His thoughtful and detailed stories of Lewis and Tolkien and The Inklings and honestly Oxford was moving and lovely! I feel like we stumbled open Oxfords greatest treasure in Tom! THANK YOU TOM! The Harry Potter was the highlight of our visit to Oxford. Our Billy was funny and quick-witted, spoke with passion, and had an impressive amount of knowledge. He really adapted to the group and made the experience personal. Highly recommended! Food & Drink Tour We thoroughly enjoyed our hosted by Peter! He was a brilliant guide. From start to end we had a fantastic time. We had been to Oxford before occasionally but never knew how much fascinating it had! We also loved the Harry Potter elements. We were expertly guided to several delicious food stops and went home full of food and brilliant memories! We’d absolutely the tour, it couldn’t have been any better & we wish we could do it all again! We had a fantastic walking of Oxford today with our guide, Will, who truly brought the city's rich to life. Traveling with my wife, mother-in-law, and our infant daughter, we appreciated how Will tailored the experience to keep everyone engaged. Will expertly navigated us through key landmarks, including the stunning Radcliffe Camera, the historic Bodleian Library, and many others sharing fascinating anecdotes about their significance along the way. His enthusiasm for Oxford's was infectious, and he made sure to include interesting facts about the university's traditions and notable alumni as well. I highly Will for anyone looking to explore Oxford's iconic sights! Had an amazing at this Harry Potter themed tour. Detailed explanations of every single part of the where we visited. Flora was an absolute amazing guide. We had a smaller group than expected, therefore, had a better chance to experience and explore these places in more depth and detail as it took us longer than the approximate of the tour. No problem that it took longer. It was really the opposite, I liked the fact that it could last longer to make sure we understood each part. I was so pleased to see the divinity school, and also, what shocked me was that I actually saw Harry’s head mark placed on the floor outside, near the divinity school. As this was a smaller group, it was for me to pop in and buy something that I was looking for, for a very long time. Another thing I noticed (probably not used in the film), was the shaped part above the entrance to the divinity school hall, where this looks very much like the original version of the triwizard tournament trophy. Amazing experience. Like mentioned above, Flora was and had knowledge to tell us more about the Harry Potter film scenes. Thank you! Highly recommended, 100%. The group I was with had a with the Oxford tours and we especially loved our Michiel, he was absolutely and very punctual and explained everything in a way we could understand. Would recommend! Amazing! John and Alasdair were so helpful and communicative, the bikes were so easy to manage and the views were outstanding. The lunch was delicious and the was so interesting. It was better than we could have hoped! We booked the Morse last minute and didn't really know what to expect! In the event the was wonderful thanks to our Tom who has an amazing knowledge of not only all the Morse, Endeavour and Lewis series but also fantastic in depth knowledge of all the Oxford colleges, their and notable alumni with lots of interesting facts and anecdotes. The couple of hours we spent with Tom were thoroughly entertaining and was the highlight to our visit to Oxford. Highly recommended!
