Interesting story behind the castle. Pretty nice castle. Very few people around, so it's peaceful and quiet! It's quite a nice walk from the nearby town (with a train station): Ludwigsstadt. Unfortunately, they take only cash, so I couldn't go in. Guided tour in German. It has all the things for kids you'd expect from a knight's castle. Perfect for kids. Nice little medival castle. With a good collection. Beautiful and many special things inside. The price also very friendly. we love it. The tour was interesting but in German. There might be English tours available but we didn't have anything arranged. They gave us a sheet with a description of each room in English so we could follow along. The castle is lovely very picturesque and surrounded by nature and lots of trails it is very peaceful and quiet and I only say two other people on my entire visit. Now the downside are that unfortunately quite a bit of the exterior ground were under construction which definitely kills the aesthetics when trying to take photos. There is a little office which I presume you can buy tickets to enter inside I read only with a tour. Unfortunately I didn’t get to go inside but that mean I got to visit the outside and grounds for free. The parking is down the road and there is plenty of parking and a little park for kids. It’s free to which is nice. It’s about maybe 10min walk up hill to get there.
