A nice woodland and river with a variety of walks, some easy, others difficult. Unfortunately, as of 2023, the footbridge crossing the River Cusher in the middle of the Glen is closed for the foreseeable future due to structural damage. This is our usual and offers walks for all abilities. The River Trail offers easy access with good views of the River Cusher. It is quite common to see Dippers and Grey Wagtails in the river and very occasionally a Kingfisher can be seen too. The Bluebell and Glenview Trails are both far more strenuous but are good walks. The only criticism is that discarded dog waste bags / litter and dog fouling can frequently found on the path nears the two car parks. This is despite the regular efforts of the Council to keep the place clear of dog mess and litter. There is parking at both the Tandragee and Clare ends of the Glen. The Clare end carpark is the larger one with spaces for around 20 vehicles. Toilets are also available at the Clare end car park. This is a nice place to visit if you live locally or are visiting the area. Great place for a leisurely in the woods. Not crowded, nice scenery and benches to sit on at various intervals. Quaint little spot with some beautiful trails and views. Had a lovely here on Boxing Day and will be back very soon. Delighted to discover something so beautiful so close to home. Next to no litter on the trails and no dog muck either which is lovely to see Wheelchair/ electric scooter friendly however some parts of the trail are quite steep so needed some extra push A great short forest along the river. The dogs and kids loved it. Small car park and a few benches. Only draw back is lack of bins and disregard by some dog walker. Lots and lots of dog mess and one bin (that we saw) along the paths themselves. Lovely spot, we have been coming for years and never tire of the place for walks with the constant changes over time and season. There is camping facilities although I have never used them. A public toilet at one of the car parks but locks after a certain time in the evening. Lovely piece of land. Little valley with stream/River. Small waterfall and a wee bridge. Some said there was a mill there. Nice enough walk, but upkeep is not good, broken and wobbly fences, closed facilities and visibly polluted foamy water, (this is not on them). Could be brilliant with a bit of care. A lovely circular in a peaceful surroundings beside the Claire Glen river. Not a long walk, but well worth doing. Dogs on a lead. Some quite steep areas, mostly fenced off, but not everywhere. Car parks at both ends. A serene on an early autumn morning. The sound of leaves rustling as you tread along the path. A most beautiful walk. Dog friendly seating and picnic tables. Toilets available too. Great walk,nice and peaceful...love it🤗 A very nice loop trail around the river. Handy to park the car and the dog. Just the right length too, 45 mins to complete approx 3.7km. Nice place for a walk.
