I can't say enough good things about this restaurant-bar and their staff. We wanted a special place to take my Mum who had spent a week doing Radiation Treatment for Cancer. She needed good food and a nice night to celebrate. We had a lovely little table in the bar area and a very nice young girl as our waitress, she was so kind and helpful. The food was delicious, a homemade Thai Chicken Curry, Roast Beef Dinner and their special for the night Steak, Mushrooms with Oinion Rings and Chips, everything was outstanding. To top off my Mums night the guy on the front desk talked to my Mum about her days of coming to the pub-restaurant many years ago and made her so happy. Thank you guys for such a lovely night. We will be back. It’s so easy to write a review when the restaurant is simply perfect! If I could I would give more than 5 stars for the food. It was so so tasty,steak was cooked to perfection,the Diane sauce was delicious. The salmon the same. This place has no fault! I really enjoyed eating here,the atmosphere is nice,busy but good enough to keep up a conversation. Nice decorated also. Stuff was friendly,prompt and paying attention to details. We called in for lunch on the way back from Newry. From the moment we arrived we felt very welcome. The staff are so friendly. The fire was lit and the playlist was perfect. The wood stove is a nice touch. Menu is fairly traditional. The salmon was tasty with a lightly flavoured sauce and accompanied by perfectly cooked beans and broccoli, not soft and over steamed. My partner had fish and chips. Nice size and the batter was crisp. Service was timed nicely and was welcoming but not intrusive. Great find and we will return for sure. Can reserve online. Yea came here in n Easter Tuesday. The staff r so friendly & attentive. I had the vegetable soup & it was proper home made broth. Absolutely 10/10 my wife had prawn salad & really enjoyed it both starters came with wheaten & this was so fresh. For mains we both had lasagne, I took a chance on this as I dont usually order it due to the meat being super fine & usually over processed, not here though, this was home cooking at its finest. Beautiful proper mince, properly prepared lasagne definitely recommend if u enjoy home cooking. My wife had both red & white wines & said they wer beautiful, I had harp & it was ice cold for dessert we shared an amazing cheese board. Will definitely return.
