Beautiful little pub alongside the lock with plenty of canal boats and a lovely walk further down. The food is also reasonably priced and very tasty such a beautiful spot to stop off and enjoy a pint There are so many good options on the menu, one of the best I’ve seen. The Shroppie burger was lovely. My friend had the Cheshire pork sausages, onion gravy and buttery mash which he said was excellent too. Good service all round and friendly staff. A proper canal side pub which is one of the very best along the Shropshire Union Canal. The service and friendly welcome was wonderful. The menu is so full of excellent choices. I wanted to have everything, but I eventually decided on the chicken, ham, leek pie. This was such a meal. The creamy mashed potatoes really added to the meal. Really enjoy this food so much. Thank you We called in for a lunch time drink. We did not sample the food, we did look at the menu which had lots of variety and a good selection. Friendly welcome from the staff. Good atmosphere for a friendly pub. Outside seating, dogs are welcome even have their own doggie beer ! Super cute canal side pub! A few veggie options but could have more. Dog friendly and has a lovely pub garden. We booked a table for 5 last Friday evening prior to the Open Mic Evening. Nothing was too much trouble. We all had a 3 course meal. Food presentation was excellent and also the quality. Claire kindly looked after us exceptionally well. Many thanks for a lovely experience topped with a musical evening. 🥰 The Mexican theme night was a event - food, atmosphere and staff. Thanks to all who made it special, and especially to Claire who was brilliant throughout the evening. We will definitely be back the next time our narrowboat adventures bring us this way!! We stopped by The Shroppie Fly in Audlem for a Sunday roast and it absolutely delivered! The roast was generous, beautifully plated, and full of flavour. The beef was tender, the Yorkshire pudding was golden and crisp, and the gravy was rich and comforting everything you want from a proper pub roast. The veg was cooked perfectly, and the roasties had that satisfying crunch with a fluffy centre. What made it even better was the setting right by the canal, enjoying a pint of Guinness and a local cider in the sunshine. It felt like the perfect countryside Sunday. Great food, prices, and a lovely relaxed vibe. Definitely worth a visit if you’re in the area (and hungry)!
