An interesting standing proud on the top of the hill. You cannot get directly to the and it is best to view this from the below. A nice spot to stop at if you like castles while driving along the coastal road. You can’t actually walk up to the castle, but it’s a beautiful place, truly. It will make you jealous of a sheep. The to go up to it is extremely narrow and won’t fit larger vehicles, or two lanes. Drive carefully. You can’t climb up there but you can see it from the road, just past the Red Arch if you are heading north. Good to stop for a picture. It’s pretty enough. After a short but steep walk up from the coast at Red Bay you come on a farm gate and across the field lies Red Bay Castle. A defensive ditch protects against attack and then you can view the remains thanks to Cromwell they are few🏰😎great views over to Cushendall. Saw this from the road, not actually sure if you can physically get to it or not but there did seem to be a steep footpath nearby, not sure where it went. It's a falling down bit of history, good to take a look at as passing on the coastal route Sadly not enough signs to direct to the castle. This is a rather beautiful side to it which can be viewed if you climb up 5e steep hill off coast At this stage, I think it is more ruin than a castle. But it is standing and you can get photos and it does have a pretty spectacular view around it. But if you're going specifically to see a castle, go elsewhere. Beautiful area although we're here for the Amoy motorcycle racing!! This is either a drive by or a walk along a foot path. We walked a few miles and it was a beautiful walk along the water. Couldn't figure out how to get to the castle, could only see it from the road. Still cool tho.
