Was OK but portion size for price was unreal! £10.45 for 6 piece of chicken a pitta and salad! Cans of pop are expensive aswel which is crazy considering there's a Tesco express next door. Sign saying it's cash only aswel. Wouldn't rush back. Really fantastic Chicken & Lamb Shish kebabs here! - visited a few times in recent weeks and each visit has been a 5* experience. Chicken (usual order) was always juicy, with well seasoned flavour and the chilli sauce is spicy without being too hot. Today’s combination of Chicken with Lamb Shish was incredibly good. Lamb was tender and nicely charred, salad was fresh and crunchy and the chilli/garlic sauces were the perfect combination with a soft pitta bread. The staff are always welcoming and helpful, even when they are busy - we sat in on a rainy day and our food was brought over to us - just great service for a takeaway! Kebabs are £14-16 for large size, but they are excellent quality and generous portions, so worth it. Highly recommend the kebabs here, yet to venture to try other menu options! Cash only in the shop, but you can order online and pay by card - there is a Tesco with ATM next door (ish) Mint sauce is also for sale in Tesco - good to know if you like mint with lamb as I do, because they don’t offer mint in the shop - still 5* kebabs 👍🏼 We had an amazing experience at Mama Mia Pizzeria & Grill in Ambleside! Tucked away in a charming spot on Market Place, this place is a true hidden gem. We tried their burgers, and they were absolutely fantastic — juicy, full of flavour, and cooked to perfection. What really stood out was the wide variety of sauces that perfectly complemented every bite. The portions were generous and satisfying, offering great value for money, especially after a day of exploring the Lake District. On top of that, the staff were incredibly friendly and welcoming, making us feel right at home from the moment we walked in. If you're in Ambleside and craving a tasty, hearty meal with excellent service, Mama Mia Pizzeria & Grill should be at the top of your list. We'll definitely be back! Chips with cold cheese on the top, not melted at all called to ask why it hadn’t been melted he said the microwave is broken. Said to come back tomorrow when the microwave might be working we should not have been charged or sold this. I recommend the donner pizza! You can either order online and collect there or have CASH with you! On 7 June 2025, around 930pm, I ordered a Meal-Deal-2 which includes a Lamb Shish for takeaway. As I was having the kebab, I realised the lamb is not fully cooked! For smaller pieces, it’s cooked, but for bigger pieces, they are all cooked on the outside but raw on the inside. This is totally unacceptable and awfully disgusting. If I had known, I rather starve myself. On the same day and around the same time, my friend ordered Meal-Deal-1 which should include coleslaw but when we got home we realised that they did not pack the coleslaw for us. I would not recommend this place at all. This pizza was dreadful — the cheese was horrible, plastic-like, cheap and unpleasant. I decided to give it a second chance the following night and ordered a doner kebab, but it was the worst I’ve ever tasted — incredibly watery and I could only manage one bite. They also tried to charge me £19 for a mixed chicken and doner kebab, which is absolutely ridiculous and I would never pay that. The chips were average at best; they were the only thing I ate.
