Breathtaking of the natural beauty of Windermere lake surrounded by picturesque mountains. 20 mins hiking to the top place from Windermere Golf club. Proper signboards are not there to get into this viewpoint. There is a signboard that says - "Bowness 1 mile walk". You can follow that pathway. A very good uphill to be rewarded with wonderful views. A bit hazy today but still great. Very good of Windermere Nice with a good at the top A public, to access via car and free! Parking can be a challenge as has to be in the very narrow roads. We found it not so challenging to get to the top, but then again, not like we parked too far away either! One you get to the top, on a nice clear day, can be spectacular. It was a nice walk, once you got out of Bowness, which seemed like Blackpool at it's worst. Once you start to go up the hill and leave the smell of weed, chips and stale beer behind, the is quite and pleasant. The from the top are quite breathtaking. Please note, dogs will need to be on leads, as their are sheep in abundance on this walk, and a few friendly cows too! not the path The from the top was stunning! Quite an incline to get to the top however a relaxing hike!!! Would definitely recommend! Breathtaking of the Windermere lake and surrounding areas. The is relatively easy. This place is just walkable distance from bowness. Not that busy. If you have a car, you can park it down on the side of the road and can start the hike. We had small kids in our group, yet we manage to climb. The is spectacular. You can see tiny villages and the lake. You can club this along with your visit to the Lake Windermere. The was not so difficult and about 10-15mins to get to the top. The are breadthtaking and worth. You can see the western side sea on a clear day. Wonderful place to to with awesome views. My time of the visit didn’t have the most awesome colours but still a wonderful I'm sure it's beautiful in better weather. short route from Bowness. A nice to see the whole Windermere ..... Go up from Brantfell Road. You will see a gate at the end of the road and use the iron one to enter the farm area. Continue to go uphill and you hv to pass through two wooden gates. And till you reach a farm wall, it would have steps to help you crossing it. After that, you will see the Brantfell Viewpoint, where is the highest point of the hill, you have to a bit downhill and all the way up. You will reach the summit in 10 mins. And the whole journey to the would be around 30-35 mins Breathtaking from the top. Definitely worth the walk. You will need to search for “Brant Fell Above the Bustle” in Google Maps in order to the entrance. The pictures here will help you the footpath entrance. Amazing hike! It can get really muddy during the rainy times otherwise the is quite fun. There are lots of rocks on top where you can go up to have the best view. The steep hill up from the junction is the only hard bit. For the the ones who using public transport, get Bus no. 599 from Windermere train station and get down at St Martins church stop. There you could the Brantfell road and that's your starting point. Stunning view! The route could be a little tricky and hard to find. I would suggest searching on other websites than just following Google map. It could go steep in some part of the area so if you have a walking stick. Nice walk, spectacular from the top. Lovely little with amazing view. It’s little difficult to the entry point but trail is there and for beginners and kids as well. The place gives a very peaceful vibes and feels closer to nature. Definitely recommend. Lovely when you get to it, however Google maps took us along the B5284 to a point you can no longer access. Instead up BrantFell road where you will get to a gate, follow the path straight up and you will come to a signpost which will direct you to the viewpoint. It’s so beautiful however we found it very difficult to find. We googled brant fell and started off in Kendall road then walked up a steep footpath on the left of some houses. It was very rainy and wet. Some parts very slippery. It was not an route and took us about 45 mins to get to the top.
