We had been for 2 nights, first night was the chicken burger and the second was the fish and chips. The food tasted fresh and the cheesy garlic bread was to die for. The service was fast and everyone was welcoming and chatty. The outside area was nice with the heat lamps and watching the sheep in the nearby field. Lovely ales, great service, excellent food and when the fire is roaring and it's chilly outside, there's no better place to be. Be back again next year! I have been in here 4 times now and the service, food and overall friendly atmosphere is great. Big T the manager is really funny and the staff always chat. Prices v portions are in balance. Only gripe is my wife was at the bar and several people pushed in front of her and the barman kept serving them instead of her who'd been there longer The Sunday lunch (Roast beef) was absolutely fantastic, sausage and mash was also excellent, one of the best Sunday Roasts I've had in the lake District, we will definitely be back, service was also excellent, thanks to all 5*.
