We went for Sunday lunch here. And it’s a spot with staff, a interior and great atmosphere. However what let it down was the food. Tough meat, frozen vegetables and gloopy shop bought gravy. Really not what you expect for £20 plus a plate. Sad to right this review, but it really was a disappointment🤔 The most amazing couple of managers ever are running this little place. It’s cosy, warm, nicely decorated. The food was great, very tasty and more than excellent portions. The atmosphere feels very warm and relaxing and was perfect for a nice dinner. The couple running this place are so friendly, happy to talk and recommend places in the Lake District. We had a evening all thanks to these people working ever so hard to please customers. The staff were so and so accommodating with dogs. The quality of the food was amazing. If we are ever back in the area we would definitely visit again One of the best pub in the Lakes From the moment we walked through the door to the moment we left our experience at Queens Head was exceptional! Greeted by such staff who were so attentive to our every need. Our food came so quickly and the quality was out of this world. The atmosphere they have created at this pub is something really special, even without the spectacular mountain backdrop this pub would still stand out for all the right reasons. We will definitely be returning on a regalar basis that is for sure! Wonderful stay for two nights. The staff are amazing. So and welcoming. Food was delicious. Rooms have everything you need and there are little touches that make it feel special. Very welcoming to dogs. Would highly recommend. Stayed at Queens Head again we haven’t been since the fire and it was great to be back. Restoration is brilliant and the feeling of the place has definitely been retained. Food and service were as good as they could be and the dog side is so well worked that it was effortless. The only possible downside was that our bedroom was a touch too warm for us but a good fan which was in the room certainly helped. clean pleasantly decorated bedrooms, nice touches with the toilet roll stamps, soaps and flapjacks in the room and real milk for your brew. Dog but not if you don’t like dogs whilst you’re eating as everyone has one. No issue for us until one was left barking in the bedroom for an hour and a half. Otherwise will definitely be back for another evening meal stay over and breakfast is gorgeous. Staff are all really and friendly.
