Early morning stop off for a cuppa before the return journey along the towpath to Cutters Wharf. Tea was good. Such a pleasant way to start the day and the sun was splitting the trees ☀️ The Lock Keeper's Inn is a charming café situated along the riverbank, offering a relaxing atmosphere with scenic views. It’s a great spot to sit and enjoy a cup of hot chocolate while watching the world go by. The café has a cozy ambiance, making it an ideal place to unwind, especially on a chilly day. However, I cannot recommend the salads. My daughter ordered one during our visit, and within an hour, she became ill, experiencing nausea and a fever—clear signs of food poisoning. This was deeply concerning, as we had expected fresh and safe food. While the drinks and general setting of the café are enjoyable, food safety should be a top priority. If you visit, I suggest sticking to beverages or other well-cooked items on the menu. It’s disappointing when an otherwise pleasant experience is overshadowed by concerns about hygiene and food quality. I hope the café takes measures to ensure better food safety standards in the future. Decent food and drinks selection. Only dog friendly outside so a bit awkward if you're on your own with the dog and you don't want to leave them unattended for whatever reason. Salad was lovely tho pricey ... the quiche wasn't great .... staff were friendly..... very busy wee shop ... quite few coffees to choose from & tray bakes but hot food menu is small but over priced .... Went for a walk from Shaws Bridge, which was lovely. We stopped at the Lock keepers inn. We were pleasantly surprised by the food that was being served. We had Butter nut squash, spicey spinage soup. It was delicious. It was well worth a visit. Thank you Great system and service around current covid restrictions. Menu great if want more than a and bun. Superb location for walks in nature 🌳🌿🌾 Lovely spot. Two Lattes cost £8.40 and barely tasted of coffee. Crazy prices for warm brown milk. Was walking the Lagan towpath and stopped by The lock keepers. Got myself a carrot cake and a as a treat. The staff are very friendly. It’s nice to be greeted with a smile. I sat outside and my and cake were brought out to me in just a few minutes. Again very attentive and made sure I had everything I wanted. I’ll definitely be back. A bit of a favourite of mine when I’m back in Belfast visiting my parents. Very nice soup and sandwiches. My only complaint is the could be better (however good selection of alternative milks). excellent location, and they have gluten free menu. Decent too. baked goods look fantastic. Beautiful location. Excellent facilities. Free self service Water. Dog friendly. Water provided. Delicious food. Take away coffees etc. Good gluten free menu. It has the Best latte in town..always a pleasure to sit down for a cuppa after a long walk Had lunch recently at the cafe. Toasties were served in blue moulded bread and only spotted once nearly finished. Staff were understanding and offered refund but more care should have been taken when making the sandwiches and packing them to spot such a mistake before serving the food to customers.
