We popped along hoping to buy some local organic wine. The owner immediately offered us a tasting, even though he was obviously busy preparing for the harvest. He spoke excellent English & answered our questions. He then invited us to have a walk around the vines which gave a superb view of Château de Biron. We bought some & would recommend a visit. Excellent guided tour around the winery by the owner himself. We drove in without an appointment, and had a great experience starting with the grapes overview, vine making stages explained followed by a degustation and answering hundreds of our questions😆 We were recommended to visit this place by the hotel manager and it was a 100% spot on!!! Absolutely loved it!!! Don’t hesitate to visit this charming winery yourself and enjoy a good wine💫🍾 Card payment is available too😉 We came here on a whim as we were in the area and it turned out to be a fantastic experience. Gilles was very knowledgeable and it turned out the and grape was very unique. Definitely recommend if you are nearby We just rocked up and received a warm and friendly welcome by the host, who kindly showed us around and with passion told us much about the history of the area and the grapes they are producing organically. (All available in English) After the short tour we got to taste the different wines and all went home with a few bottles of wonderful (that were cheap!) 10/10 would recommend for a nice local experience. Gilles took us on a very interesting tour of the estate and tasting room. He was very lovely, knowledgeable and generous with his time. He showed such passion for nurturing the lost grape of biron. We just wish we saw his two dogs! Wonderful experience. Despite not calling ahead we were shown around and given a tour. We also tasted the wines. A lovely morning with a great host! A short drive from Chateau de Biron the vineyard is set in an lovely wooded location and is well sign posted. The joint owner Gilles Detilleux welcomed us and despite us turning up without an appointment took the time to explain the process of producing their organic wine, in English. He's is clearly very passionate about his and we enjoyed our time with him. We first found Domaine de la Tuque after tasting some of their at a restaurant in Villereal. Gilles is an excellent host and I always learn something new each time we visit. Bulles de Tauzin for me is better than Champagne - these people are masters of their craft!
