One of the Best Places To Visits in Sperlinga Frequently mentioned in reviews: Top-rated.online cuts through the clutter, highlighting only the reviews that are most helpful, earn the most likes, or come from the most active contributors. Tickets are available at the bar near the entrance. The place is wonderful. Built on the rock with natural voids in the rock were used as parts of construction. Nice views especially towards Etna volcano. Little museum inside. An amazing place, well going out of your way to get here. The photos can't really do it justice. Carved out of rock and used for many hundred (thousand?) years, the fortress really began to take shape in the Norman period. Be sure to wear sturdy shoes with a grip, as there are some steep sections. The climb to the top is it for the 360 degree view. Allow for at least an hour to get a good look around. And, yes, you have to buy your entrance ticket at the bat next door. Fantastic visit, unexpected in size. 5€ entrance (ticket at the bar) and you can have a guide via a QR code at the entrance. It also has a little park at the back site (including public toilets). Unfortunately everywhere cigarette buts to be found... Small town, interesting ruin. You need to go to the littler bar at the piazza next to the to purchase your entry tickets. Really friendly people! Great place to visit. The party in the rock. Do not forget to go downhill to sea small houses in the cave as well. The view of Etna as a bonus! 5 euros a ticket, but every cent! Make sure to get at the cafe/ bar just outside. What an incredible castle, very high with lots of history. Amazing views at the top. Beautiful place with wonderful views. More of a group of caves than a although there is a turret on site. Could be better signposted as you’re going round. There was no mention of toilets out the back gate so assumed it would be a nice walk but just lead to the loos. Definitely wear sensible shoes and the climb to the turret is uneven. Tickets must be purchased in the nearby bar. Of the many castles on our Sicily trip, one of the best, the 5 EUR This was truly an amazing Castello that represents an Era of that time and true to what a Castello would be for the people of that community. The narrow steps to the top of the Castello made me look and see how well they have been used through time. At the top is an amazing "aqueduct" created for their wells and baths at the very top. It is a bit of a drive to Sperlinga but well it. The "bar" at the tops sells the entrance tickets and the owner is very kind and helpful. There is a museum under the Castello that has great pictures of the hard life in the past. Truly a unique gem of a "Castle/Castello" with posters telling you the history through out your walk through. Very unique place with view on Etna. Not only the in the rock but also some houses (caves) in the town. Tickets have to be bought from the cafeteria near the parking lot before you start going up the ramp to the castle. It's really the visit! The steps up the turret are difficult but duable. The views are breathtaking from every part of the fortress.
