The Citadel in Rabat/Victoria on Gozo is one of the most beautiful places on the island. Great of the surroundings, well-preserved walls, and a peaceful atmosphere make walking around a real pleasure. Inside, there are museums and a cathedral worth seeing. A perfect place to discover the of Gozo. Cute fortress with lots of historical areas. Nice and souvenir shops, a restaurant is also there. The whole thing is for free - you have to pay only for the museum (5€ for an adult ticket.) We first visited Cittadella late at night, around midnight. It was quiet with hardly anyone around, and we were able to wander through the little streets, enjoy the 360° of the city while everything was asleep, and take some amazing pictures. We returned the next morning before leaving Gozo, and it felt like a completely different place — full of people, vibrant colors, and strong sunshine. We had to look for shade often, but it was worth it to explore all the spots we had seen the night before in a whole new light.
