They were set up for an event over the weekend which I wish we could've stayed for. Some renovation work by volunteers can be seen on the tower. We found the site ..by the beautiful River Somme..but it is a broken down round tower.....no not even that !! It's awaiting "renovation ". Why one star? Well opposite the little lane to said"building"...is a layby ...and a French man was renovating said laybe . When I asked him if the building across the way was chateau eaucourt...he laughed and said that it was the "chateau "...and we had a good laugh together Saying it was no chateau at all!!!!! Humour transcends language!!! Positief: rustige ligging, niet ver van de fietsroute langs de Somme, redelijke plaatsen met voldoende schaduw indien nodig, leuk winkeltje voor basis levensmiddelen . Minder positief: sanitair is in matige staat van onderhoud en is soms vies waarschijnlijk omdat het schoonmaken alleen ‘s avonds gebeurt. Sanitair is gedateerd wat ik op zich niet erg vindt maar met de combinatie van matige staat van onderhoud, viezigheid toch onaangenaam. De ontvangst en hulp van de eigenaar is absoluut goed en correct. Er stonden helaas twee jonge gezinnen afkomstig van een groot eiland aan de andere kant van het kanaal die zich nogal asociaal gedroegen. Niet praten maar schreeuwen tegen kleine kindjes, vuilnis op het pad laten liggen, tot midden in de nacht kinderen laten rennen in hun caravan , een soort aan uit sfeer verlichting aan de buitenkant van de caravan hadden etc dat wij toch maar zijn verhuisd, zij creëerden een akelige sfeer rondom maar dat is jammer voor de camping en camping eigenaar die daar niets aan kan doen. De eigenaar is heel vriendelijk en behulpzaam. Magisch, heel bijzonder, genoten! Wij stonden heel toevallig op een camperplek dichtbij en wat een verrassing dat we dit ontdekten.
