Spent the morning here today, my son and I got over 20 fish. It’s my first time here and I’m very impressed by the place. Hope to spend more time here soon. Great on Cedar lake today. 177lb was the winning weight from peg 1, that end of the lake fished better with a light breeze blowing down the lake towards the car park end. This was an organised outdoor Fireworks display. A few Thousand attended along with many hundreds of cars. Plenty of room for everyone. Carpark is a nightmare to get out of when leaving sadly. Too many floodlights on during the 10 minute Firework display so spoils the atmosphere. Nice big Bonfire along with lovely fiod stalls and bars. Had a nice time with my adult children and wife. Will go again. We catered for people who were friendly the place is amazing Great fishing, frustrating but good, there is a tackle shop on site and food at the weekends, not sure about in the week, big in the lakes, had 4 too 39.14lb on oaks .... its the place to be always a great day. Competitions also held here . In house catering for events please call to check availability, plenty of space ie ... . Live bands , local events ,celebration events ,And now static / lodges are being added to have and enjoy a lovely holiday/ at The Decoy Lakes with your lovely host Karen . Well stocked lakes and good with easy access to many pegs. Not just a carp venue plenty of silver too Everything the angler needs in one place. Went for the bonfire party here. Defo wirth the visity for Guy Fawkes Decoy lakes is one of the best match venues in the country, you can pleasure also. The tackle shop is OK and the staff/owners are nice and helpful. All the top angler's this venue...you have plenty of different types of lakes to choose from. Well worth a visit. Wonderful venue for private events. Booked 15 pegs paid before hand turn up with 11 then told we had not paid it wasn't in the book. Then told we can only one side which was 12 pegs so paid for 3 pegs and couldn't use them what a horrible bloke in the tackle shop needs some lessons in customer services As the weather is changing the are more cagey, but still feeding a few feet down in the water, its one of the best venues about, with lovely owners, if u want to catch a 100 pounds in this is the venue for the year my personal best on the pole 21ib good helpful staff in shop Caravans nice & clean. looks great although I was too tired to appreciate it(see below). Owner was very welcoming. Downside it’s very noisy in the early hours 04:30-07:00 with loud music & singing coming from a large workshop on the site & immigrant workers making noise outside whilst waiting to go to work from 06:30. Left one day early unfortunately. Brilliant day out I would not even give them one star. I would never recommend this company to anyone. Booked a holiday for the whole family in October, saying they accepted pets, we double checked through the booking agent and all okay, two months later I get an email cancelling one cabin, upon calling I am then told BOTH are to be cancelled as they have decided due to ONE bad with pets in the they have decided to cancel ALL holidays where they have accepted payment for pet accommodation. Two months after paymemt and then they change their mind, they have let down my entire family and countless others due to one careless owner, if you accept a holiday months in advance you should honour it, this was months in advance, do you not understand what a deposit is? This now leaves us too late to book another holiday. Could not have been more unfazed saying just go back and hoseasons will book you somewhere else, yes thank you SO helpful :)(they can't find any other accommodation, what a surprise!). What next? a bad with kids and then they get banned? the bad wasn't down to the pets, it was down to poor ownership due to the PEOPLE, which is why you have a deposit, for damages!! One bad with one bad owner and everyone has to pay and countless holidays ruined. That one bad comes down to the people and you have chosen put every paying customer down to being that way which we are not. All bad experiences or "trashing of our accommodation" comes down to the people staying, I would know as I am a landlord and have been for over 10 years, it's down to the individuals everytime. Utter cop out nonsense, still advertising as pet friendly too, don't waste your time, money or family's hopes for a nice holiday to these people. I have recently moved to the area and have been Decoy Lakes - 6 islands, Beastie, Oak and Yew. I have caught plenty of fish, with some real weights to some of them and very surprised by the number of barbel in the venue up to a good size. Cat meat seems to be a favourite of the bigger fish. Also recently the owner Karen, has onsite available in the house which can sleep 6+ guests at very reasonable rates including a nice breakfast in the morning. Also after the match there is plenty of room to do results and have a drink and have more food. A thoroughly enjoyable experience. Absolutely lovely accommodation!
