As you drive in on your left there is a river with lovely wildflowers. Ahead of you are tables. There is a field with goals a playground. Going inside you are greeted like an old friend. There is a keg which holds water and a bowls for our furry family member. Its really spacious with comfortable seating. A great menu. The food was delicious. Perfectly prepared the presentation was great. The flavours and textures woke your taste buds. What's more all of this was affordable and well worth a visit. Will be heading back very soon.. it is worth the drive Absolutely delighted with every aspect of our visit. Decided to go to The Old Fisherman for a family Sunday and we were impressed with the food and service. As a wheelchair user I’m pleased to say getting in and out was easy and the table height was perfect. The car park and garden are both large and the pub easily accommodated our party of five. I’m a vegetarian so chose the beetroot and sweet potato tart instead of meat with my and it was delicious. I’m told the lamb shanks were fantastic. Absolutely fantastic! Came across it on our drive to Oxford and see they did food, was greated at the door and given the option on where to sit! The bar man was so and so helpful, we got a sharing Camembert and a meat trio dish, both were so so so yummy! Had a lovely atmosphere, great garden and really cute inside! Also had a dog at the bar which can’t ever be a bad thing! Sad we didn’t get to stay longer but glad we stopped ☺️☺️ We celebrated my sons 40th birthday here yesterday. A separate room had been made up for us, plenty of room and lovely surroundings. The food was amazing and the and helpful. My grandchildren were able to go outside into the park between courses. We were not rushed and the timings between each course was perfect. A shout out out to the manager who helped make our experience even better with his approach and superb hosting. Lovely location by the river, food was very reasonably priced and good quality. and service were excellent. pub with a truly warm atmosphere. Will be visiting again and suggest you give it a try too! Stayed here in our campervan. Lovely location by a river, good selection of real ales, (not Greene King) which was a bonus for me. Food really nice and extensive menu. pleasant and attentive, especially the manager Darren, who was the perfect host. Would recommend and will be coming back when next in the area. We will be visiting again on a return trip to Thame. I enjoyed a spontaneous today with my partner as we were both working in the same area. It's within a beautiful setting, with a babbling brook leading you to the car park. The were welcoming and attentive. There is a play area for little ones and it's very dog with their own menu to choose from! We could have chosen many other places but we were drawn to the 'Old Fisherman' and we were not disappointed. Just had the most delicious Easter Sunday Roast! An exceptionally warm welcome from the staff, amazing food. Ample parking and dog too! We will definitely return and soon! Very reasonably priced for the quality of the food. Would highly recommend and will return. I haven’t been here in a few years. The food was fantastic and the amazing. The manager took time to talk to my son about the menu. My 10 Year old came away feeling noticed and said he was the first server who made him feel welcome. Definitely recommend. Had a couple of meals and drinks here and have been very nice meals. and helpful with smiles on their faces. Location is beautiful and right next to a river. Big outside sitting area.
