This meal has been committed to memory as one of the best! You'd be mad not to order the beef truffle paccheri, and the beef tartar and the pork cheeks were excellent. The duck was if you like sweet cranberry sauce. We came here to celebrate our wedding anniversary and was delighted by the food and service. Nestled within the city center, this high-end offers a variety of food including traditional foods at an affordable price. The complementary bread was with the sauce and our dessert was also as it wasn’t too sweet. My husband was skeptical about ordering rabbit, but the waiter assured him that it was good, so he tried it and loved it. I would definitely recommend this if you’re in Victoria and want to make your date night extra special. Very located in the heart of Rabat. At the front entrance, you’ll find a charming garden, while the back entrance leads to a cozy indoor area beautifully decorated with plants. I personally recommend the rabbit ravioli — the portion isn’t the largest, but the dish itself is absolutely delicious. They also have local craft beers on tap, and the prices are similar to those in the center of Malta. We were on a boat/ bus tour and we had a 90 minute stop in Victoria. There were a ton of restaurants in the square by the Basilica but this seems the best. We had the octopus linguine which was divine. Very portion of octopus. Also had the rabbit ravioli, which the ravioli was handmade. Then we shared the goat cheese bruschetta which was also delicious. Highly recommend, the service was and quick. Excellent high quality food. And the price was very reasonable for the portion size. Having stayed in Malta since Sept I wanted to try this spot on a visit to Gozo. Postives- location, Roza is located in the heart of a charming Square. The staff are very friendly and polite. Bar serve drinks. The personal service is 5 stars. I cant comment on the other dishes, which looked on other tables. I was unfortunately very underwhelmed having ordered the more expensive main being the lamb. Its described as an Indian fusion with pineapple. The lamb tasted like lamb- no spices other than the taste of lamb meat. The cut would have made a portion had it not been over cooked / over heated. The meal was very very dry, burnt bits tasted ashy and very chewy. Iam not sure given the dryness if the meat was cooked the same day. The side consisted of al dente seasonal veggies with potato crisps. The staff did ask for feedback in fairness as quite a lot was left but style of cooking in a traditional Maltese kitchen may be different. I would come back for ambience and drinks, sadly not the main. Roża is an absolute gem in the heart of Gozo. The space itself is beautiful—modern yet full of character, with warm lighting and a lovely courtyard that feels tucked away from the world. The food was incredibly fresh and thoughtfully prepared, every dish balanced and flavorful. You can tell they care about ingredients and presentation. The service was relaxed but attentive, which fit the island’s easy pace perfectly. A place you remember long after you leave—highly recommend if you want something authentic and refined without feeling pretentious. We had a reservation for three indoors, but when we arrived they sent us outside. Luckily, they happened to have one free table, but it was clear they hadn’t noted our booking. We ordered at 21:15, and while the starter arrived quickly, our main courses only came an hour later—after we had completely finished the starter. It really felt like the kitchen had forgotten our burgers, especially since we saw other tables who arrived later than us getting served first. The starter of sausages was very disappointing: just two small sausages for €12, definitely not worth it. The pot of mussels was good, and the double cheeseburger was also very once it finally arrived. But the hour-long wait left us frustrated and hungry. What made it worse is that the didn’t offer any gesture of goodwill—not a discount on the bill, not even a small snack to make up for the wait. For a place that presents itself as a quality (and isn’t cheap), this was very disappointing. Overall, while some dishes were good, the poor service and lack of attention to customers made the whole experience frustrating. Usually very skeptical about restaurants in squares where all of the hosts are simultaneously trying to loure you in, but I am so glad we gave in here! The host has offered to show their secret garden which was really them playing an ace. But the inside is absolutely adorable. The inside sitting area is very stylish, but the garden is just incredible. Its a very private but cute area with an authentic atmosphere. The prawn linguine has got to be the tastiest meal ive ever had in my life anywhere. We dined ir Roza 3 months ago and I still dream about having it again. For drinks we had the prickly pear liquid which was and a melon spritz which tasted very chemically so that i wouldnt recommend. Overall definitely worth coming back to!
