Plenty of free parking and a bargain price for a lane swim (the same operator charges 75p more in Bournemouth). Changing are clean. Lockers are free, but the lock codes can be a bit of a faff. Although this is a 50m it seems to be permanently divided into 2x 25m. is clean and temp with attentive lifeguards. The 8 badmington court size hall turns out to be quite for indoor model flying. 2 hours of fun. Thank you for removing the rebound boards ready for our session of model flying. Great place Came with my 8 month for a little swim. The whole place was freezing cold. My poor turned purple!! Definitely not a to visit with young ones Was just watching grandson at his session. Cafe is currently being renovated, so cafe and some tables I foyer, making that quiet busy area. here. Some of the toilets could do with updating but always friendly and helpful. Very bad first impression of this leisure centre sadly. Arrived for my sons competition having never been here before and asked at reception where to go and the man (shaved sides hairstyle) at the reception was completely rude and said ‘well obviously the pool’ and of course I didn’t know where this was. He obviously couldn’t be bothered to direct me to the pool. He needs to be properly trained on how to deal with customers/guests. Bad experience on my first visit 😏 The Mountbatten Centre is a state-of-the-art leisure center located in Hilsea, Portsmouth, England. Whether you're a seasoned athlete or just looking for a fun and healthy way to spend your free time, the Mountbatten Centre has something to offer. The front car park is restricted to 4 hours with NO concessions. Litter and dumped waste is not cleared at all. I have had cause to complain about the toilet cleaning standards on several occasions. , great staffs . My opinion is to avoid parking charges they recently introduced ! This is a center encourage people to come and do activities . Let them live healthy .. that will help NHS to reduce their waiting lists !!! Have only used the but great. Lifeguards are also really as they aren't afraid to tell people to switch lanes if they're not at the appropriate speed. Front desk are friendly. I regularly visit this facility for my daughter's lesson. Changing rooms have been improved since our first visit in September as I recall noting the strong smell of urine in the side changing rooms. There doesn't seem to be much of entry control though if I have honest. I have also used the cafe upstairs. Pleasent and the cake was gooood. There is no cap on how many people can join, so the gym is ridiculously busy at all times. Also no cap on age, so it’s full of kids who really shouldn’t be touching weights yet. Can’t do a full workout here as it’s hard to grab a machine/ weights. Really enjoy visiting here for not only the great gym facilities, the pools, and the amazing classes. But the whole feel of the place. Everyone is super friendly and happy to help each other out. The instructors are kind as well as patient, as are the lifeguards, PTs, cafe and the receptionists too. Couldn't recommend anywhere better for gym memberships. Top ranked in my opinion. The conventions held here too are incredible. This place really does have it all Absolutely awful!!! My brother and nephew went to their class, showered and about to enter when a white lady with brown hair refused them to swim as my brother was wearing swim shorts and a vest which apparently is not allowed. Bear in mind they are Muslim and of ethnic background, I don’t see why it’s a problem to wear a vest when women are allowed to wear bikinis and be dressed the way they want to? Absolutely racist and will not ever be going there again. for and soft play for a reasonable price. The is a temperature. sized car park however not many and parent spaces (not that much of a big deal though). Most areas are generally clean and kept well presented. The change is unsuitable, as there aren’t enough for the babies that are in the or that clash with the next class. Several times I’ve had to bring a mat and change my on the floor as mothers take some time to change their babies and I didn’t want mine to continue to be cold and wet. There are no areas to put other than the floor as the benches are too shallow, if the changes are busy - then I couldn’t change myself as there wasn’t space to even bring the into the changing room I could use. I stoped going to the because of this - it was doable in summer but in winter would be way too cold. Lots of the lockers are broken which made it hard also when you’re carrying a and all your belongings (then opening lots to find one that works). Cafe is wildly overpriced - a banana for £1, a bottle of drink for £3. The sausage bap was terrible - wet and stale roll, no serviettes available. The drinks machine was warm as it was not even turned on - not too big a deal generally by the one male member of that we saw did not even pretend to acknowledge or care about the drinks machine, or lack of high chairs. (Just a job a guess). For a place that caters for children with and soft play, they had only two high chairs in the building. Great value gym—staff are friendly, it’s always clean, there’s plenty of equipment, and the membership is much cheaper than other gyms in Portsmouth. Would just like a few more fitness classes, but overall, I highly recommend it. My kids have regular lessons here and the place is always clean and the are helpful and polite place to be with family, play for a while with children, there is plenty of room to enjoy, run and enjoy under the shade of a tree. Went there for an event : place has lots of parking (just make sure you upload their app to pay for parking). Lifts to all levels so great for disabled or reduced mobility users, were friendly however cafe could have been better stocked for a big event. Absolutely disappointed! My kids coming every Monday so we pay £64 a month and second time in this cold weather happened,is no hairdryer working! First time was 2 working from 4 and I ask them pls fix it(week ago) as we not driving, kids need to walk home with wet hair, today none of them working, manager said nothing she can do, it was working day time, use the hand dryer, also she said I pay for not for hair dryer(shocked!!!) when I mentioned how much we pay me and all the customers and no chance to dry hair.. we pay for and it's too! Poor service and experience. Communication is non existent by phone. Attempted to call main switch board 5-7 times over consequetive days and no answer. Daughter left costume in wet area by accident. Visited centre to collect and receptionist said they throw away after 1 day due to policy. £20 Speedo costume now been thrown away. Receptionist, (Sunday 2nd) said she knew that's it's poor and not right as they are so busy on phones. Poor service and threw away perfectly product. Not there place to do this. Doubt there is a policy for this either. Poor and not acceptable. After an evening shoreline bike ride it was great to find the lower coffee restaurant was open… Then to receive such a warm and inviting welcome from Paul was lovely. He made an excellent cappuccino with a smile and humour. It really made a change to find somebody who enjoys his work and customer service. Will definitely be back for another coffee on my next shoreline bike ride…🚲☀️☕️ Some of the reception are unprofessional and at times rude. The gym is poorly managed, and the equipment is not properly maintained. The Olympic-sized (50m) is effectively unusable at full length, as the bulkhead is apparently jammed and never lowered. The overall are unhygienic, particularly in the spa area. The ceiling shows visible black mould, and within the sauna, between the slats of the backrest, there is a heavy buildup of grime that appears never to have been cleaned. In my view, the main issue is poor management. The site manager does not appear to be competent, and as a result the centre falls far short of its potential. It’s frustrating to see a facility with so much promise run in such a careless manner. Went to the terrace cafe today and the girls working in there were so polite and friendly there names were Melissa and Courtney. Lovely being served by such happy girls nothing to much for them.
