So visited end of July. Check in was nice and simple and reception staff very friendly and welcoming. When had to raise issue with response was rapid to have a look at the issue. The location of the park is really good and only 10min walk to train station where also buses come giving easy access to others areas of the island. Would recommend using this park again if visiting in the future. A base for a short break away. Suites our needs perfectly. was really clean… storage. Brilliant and warm bedding. Fully equipped kitchen.. couldn’t ask for more The itself was lovely and absolute value for money, but the park was just so dated. The indoor swimming pool tiny, only 2 changing cubicles and 1 all of which covered in black mould. The entertainment was okay, the stage looked run down. The arcade’s were standard. We did mini golf which was great, and the food from thunderbird was delicious. Not really a deal to do, would like to see more free activities. We have been campers at the site. The location is lovely. Well kept park. Close to amenities and Shanklin old town base for exploring the island. However the toilet and block are absolutely filthy. Slime and mold growing on tiles and curtains, over flowing Sanitary bins. When reported very little response provided and no improvements made. We won't come back. Ok, so honest review time. For someone who hasn't stayed in static caravans, I didn't really know what to expect. We stayed in a called "Sensation" - it wasn't really, unless you count disappointment as a sensation. The website says that each includes a fully fitted kitchen with crockery and utensils. They did have those, but the fridge/freezer was incredibly small (the freezer box couldn't fit much in at all, maybe a few ice cube trays), and the oven looked like it was out of the 1970s and was gas only. I tried cooking a pizza in it, and what was meant to take 10-12 mins took 30+ mins to cook. The next morning, the oven decided it wanted to go on strike, so we ultimately decided against using it and ate out on Shanklin's seafront instead. The double bed was absolute bliss to sleep on, but to sleep an adult on one of the twin beds is like trying to cram a sardine into a can. The was good though, the water pressure was spot on. The site itself was brilliant. There's lots to do for the kids and we would have used more of the activities had we stayed longer. The swimming pool indoors is rather small, but my two boys had a lot of fun showing off what they'd learned in their swimming lessons. Unfortunately, the lockers, shower, and toilet definitely needed an overhaul - no door on the shower, lockers that didn't lock, and no soap in the toilets (and even after 45 mins of being in the pool having raised the issue, there continued to be no soap in the toilet once we were finished). And finally: for anyone who's not stayed in a static before, here are the things you will need for a Parkdean Resort that they don't list on the website and you didn't think you'll have needed to bring: - Towels (Showering towels, hand towels for kitchen and bathrooms, and tea towels) - Washing up liquid and brushes/sponges - Kitchen foil, cling film, baking paper - Chopping board - Handwash/soap for kitchen and bathrooms - Casting device for your TV (Google Cast, Amazon Fire TV stick etc) since the "Smart" TVs don't have a way of casting things like Netflix to them bar using an HDMI cable Overall, the was a bit of a letdown, but the site was and the location is perfect for exploring Shanklin and the east side of the Isle of Wight. P.S. Shout-out to the staff as well, who were nothing but polite every time you chatted to them, and were ever so helpful. They couldn't look at the oven whilst we were there, but if they'd had the time to help I'm sure they would've dealt with it to the best of their ability.
