Sandown is a wonderful spot to go with your family and enjoy the sun at the beach. There are many shops and seagulls. So take care of the seagulls when you enjoy your food! I think it's a wonderful idea to start a tour at Bembridge Down. Then you walk down to Sandown and carry on to Shanklin. You can walk the whole time in sand and enjoy the cool waves on a warm day.. Great large with golden sand and a few pebbles. Dotted with some great cafes for lunch and yummy ice cream. The pier is mostly amusements and arcade machines and abit of a throwback to decades gone by. When the weather is nice, the water changes to a lovely turquoise! A lovely to have a relaxed day. The pier is great. There are games you can play, there are rides for kids. Some people were even fishing. And I had the best donuts here. I keep on trying donuts in other places hoping they will taste nearly as good but they never do. A as gain lovely walk and stay in Sandown. Get up early and enjoy the sunrises and the quiet atmosphere before all the goers turn up. Some great little cafes along the walk to grab a coffee and more. Sandown on the Isle of Wight is a lovely, family-friendly destination with golden sands and clear waters. However, when I visited, it was a bit windy and cloudy. It’s perfect for swimming, relaxing, or enjoying a seaside stroll when it's sunny. The is clean and well-equipped with nearby cafés, shops, and amenities. The charming pier adds to the experience with arcades and traditional seaside fun. Overall, it's a great spot for a relaxing day by the sea! The is very nice but where are stones on the and sea weed. It’s a little quieter than shanklin beach. The pier is very good for kids and the staff are very friendly. The restaurant inside the pier serves good food but I won’t go back there for more food. The toilets cost 20p by the way and they are not even clean. The doesn’t have showers so these toilets were full of sand it’s a shame I don’t have a picture of the toilets. This is a sandy beach. The stretch between the Pier and the Fins Cafe is much quieter and overall very nice but the comes here quicker. The is flat and we arrived at 10:00am and the was in by 11:00am, so you definitely need to check the times of the as they are very changeable. We have moved to the other side of the Pier close to Bayshore Hotel and the is going up a bit there, so that has given us 2 hours extra before the came in. The is relatively narrow, so the water will cover the in full when the is in. The place is a bit run down, so it does not have an amazing atmosphere. There are small cafes there, ice cream and further in town places to eat. The car park is on the street and there is a decent number of spaces all along the stretch of the beach. Civil Enforcement Officers monitor the payment for the car park, so do not be late even 1 min. We were packing to the car on our return from the and the officer was still scanning our car while we were there. So much sand, just a perfect children’s with pools & the sea goes out for miles & stayed shallow so far out it’s great fun for families. You can take dogs on it too.
