My daughter and I had a really lovely Sunday Carvery here and it was very reasonable. No alternative parking available as car park was full, Food was very nice however, Service could have been better although they were exceptionally busy Toilets need to be updated as you need to double flush the toilet, the cold water tap did not work, no information on how to use the hot water, and the hand dryer didn't dry your hands, with no paper towels as an alternative, But to be truthful although the food is good, It was not much better than Boss cafe in Bridgwater which is better value for money with better toilet facilities and a public car park. Helpful and friendly staff. Good food and good value. Not a destination pub but it was open on a Monday and serving food! My colleagues loved the food, I unfortunately missed the food service having drove nearly 5 hrs to get there. Guinness very good on tap and faultless but unfortunately ran out after the first pint. Obviously the locals took advantage before I got there. Only point to note, a bit chilly, I understand the energy prices, but a couple of degrees higher would take the edge of the cold. A local diamond of a pub, the names not a clever ploy very friendly staff and locals. Food was very good as was the service. Highlight to Simon for making me feel welcome an like I'd been visiting for years. Overall a cracking little bar with a massive beer garden that I imagine gets busy in the warmer weather. Will be making an effort to pop in again on my next trip to Cannington. This is one of the few places to eat in Canninton. Didn't have any Lamb shank so had a burger instead. Looks like your average pub grub but was delicious with a steak burger, half cut chip and homemade coleslaw. It was so good. Would recommend if your in the area. May have to go back before we leave to check out the lamb shank Booked a table a week in advance and had knowledgement back 2 verify booking! Arrived 15 minutes early and couldn't find me booking name and staff were running around like headless chickens even though it was empty! Food and veg was very basic! Started to eat our carvery and half way through we came across a long hair in out cauliflower cheese! Would never go here again! Very bad experience!
