This is a Forest in Land Scotland Stay the night park up. Its reasonably flat with a stone surface. There are 24hr public ( no chemical waste please ), a fresh water tap is on the right as you enter the main carpark. Great wakling in the area atound the forest and to Dalbeattie. Dogs on a lead in the car park, please. This is generally were mountian bikers start the MTB routes from. The trails are fantastic. Lots of single track and technical section as well as a good skills track. Facilities aren't great - small toilet block, no shop or cafe. But I highly recommend you go 30 yards down the road to Bramble's cafe for post-ride food. It's awesome! Great centre for the family. Blue run is quite tame mainly fire roads, red ups the technical difficulty but okay for a regular rider and has the option of some black bits along side. As all tracks cross you can mix and match. There are also shorter training rides so great for the kids. Beautiful woodland at Dalbeattie, dangerous looking mountain bike tracks probably not for the faint hearted, also a lovely place to walk and campervan friendly (to end of October, not sure what happens after that). Stayed overnight very peaceful. There are which were spotless! We stayed overnight in the beautiful car park in our camper. We were the only ones there. There was plenty of wildlife to see inc 2 beautiful ponies. To stay overnight cost £10 .. free if disability badge. There were which are kept very clean. There is a cafe a bit further down, but we never visited. A peaceful night was had. Lovely family day out mountain biking and having a picnic. Clean and tidy toilets, plenty of reasonably priced shaded parking, and a fantastic green biking trail. Wouldn't recommend it as a beginner's green though as it was long (7.5miles) and had chunks of uphill. My 6 year old was fine but required a few boosts and tows. Hubby and miss 9 did a small section of the blue which was accessible from the green but he did say it was quite tough blue. 😁 Fab place for biking fun & lovely woodland walks for all the family. The car park is stay overnight for (currently) £6, with toilets. Unfortunately the don’t have functioning lights, but the disabled does have a hand dryer & hot water. The women’s was locked & I wouldn’t know about about the men’s. Plenty of spaces to park, quiet in October half term, not sure about summer. Some great cycling routes in the woods.
