Bar Vitelli is an absolute must-visit for fans of The Godfather. You come here for the history and the setting, and it delivers beautifully. The atmosphere truly transports you back to the movie—the location in Savoca is stunning, and the bar's interior is fascinating, acting like a small museum with memorabilia and photos. Managing Expectations: As expected for such an iconic filming location, it is highly touristy. Be prepared for elevated prices: our small cappuccino, for example, cost €7, making it the most expensive coffee we had during our entire trip to Italy. We also had a slightly awkward interaction where a waiter asked us to remove our personal, almost-empty water bottle from the table, even though we had already ordered drinks. While we accepted this as a rule for the establishment, it's a detail worth noting for future visitors. Overall, the experience is worth it for the beautiful scenery and the nostalgia it brings—it truly took us back to watching the in our childhood. Go for the photos and the history, but know you are paying a premium for the location. It's a stunning place and it's really worth to visit but sadly ruined by staff which can be rude and clearly they don't enjoy what they do. Owner (i guess as he was acting like one and gave orders to everyone) guy in the glasses bit grumpy and clearly there for the money. For everyone who watched The Godfather 2 is a must visit but to warn You - it is very expensive up there. Just ice coffee which has no milk and no ice... just cold brewed coffee it's 7 euro!!! As I said place it's authentic but in the wrong hands. Visiting Bar Vitelli felt like stepping into a slice of film history. This small café-bar in the village of Savoca is famous for being a filming location from The Godfather, and when I walked in, I could almost hear the scene of Michael Corleone asking for Apollonia’s hand. I ordered a simple coffee and sat outside on the small terrace, taking in the rustic charm of the village and the old-world vibe of the bar. The interior is adorned with photographs and memorabilia from the set, which definitely adds a nostalgic touch. However, I must say the experience was mixed. The setting is unique and worth it if you’re a film fan or exploring Sicily’s history, but I found the prices surprisingly high for what you get. Some reviewers mention coffees or granitas at elevated prices given the local standard. The atmosphere felt a bit staged—lots of tourists, a sense of “photo stop” more than “local hangout”. In the end, I’m glad I went—just go in with tempered expectations. The charm of Bar Vitelli is in the aura and the memory, not necessarily in gourmet quality or value. If you’re passing through Savoca, it’s a memorable stop; if you’re after the best bar experience in Sicily, you might find better local gems. This iconic cafe where Godfather 1 was also filmed at is a real must-go if you happen to be staying at the eastern part of Sicily. Great vibe, great food, pastries and coffees. It was a memorable time for me going there So cool place. People who like to take the photos would like this place📸. The place have a nice story about the Godfather. So many memories, photos, places from the scenes🎥. It have a wonderful garden, nice drinks, and have so many visitors. It's a bit pricey. It’s a cool place where some scenes from the “The Godfather” were filmed. Although it was overcrowded, it was still a nice experience. Drinks here are more expensive than in other places. The restaurant has a beautiful interior that feels like a scene from The Godfather, creating a very unique atmosphere. However, the prices are quite high, and the service felt a bit distant and formal. Iconic place to visit. As always with these spots beer s and food are priced accordingly. The atmosphere is the thing you are paying for. Tracing the bits of the godfather that was filmed in and around the village. Savaco This is probably one of my favourite spots we visited, although it’s touristy it’s not to be missed.
