Visited the restaurant for midweek, well prepared and presented meal but limited choice as vegetarian...Great selection if meat or fish. Exquisite ancient Inn with so much to like. Very lucky to have this lovely venue on our doorstep. Also ideal for alfresco dining now weather's improving. Went there for Sunday lunch. Lovely quality ingredients but the food was luke warm. Also the was poor. We weren't asked if we wanted a drink so by the time we managed to order some wine we had nearly finished our main course. Real shame because it's a lovely pub and the meal was but just warm food on a barely warm plate is unacceptable Lovely pub with rooms and that couldn't do enough to make your stay the absolute best it could be. Reasonable bar prices, excellent breakfast selection. Only downside is parking. No dedicated parking for staying guests. Which means trying to park along a narrow road and compete for spaces with day visitors. Beautiful setting though, and would definitely recommend. I didn’t stay here, just came for dinner and I have to say it’s one of my fave gastropubs in the UK now. Food was good of course as you’d expect but the ambience of the back restaurant with its fireplace and beautiful decor was dreamy. also was outstanding! I wish I’d got our waitress’ name because she was brilliant. A real treat. We stayed in this beautiful wee inn for a couple of nights, friendly and helpful clean & tidy rooms and last but not least the food is to die for!! well presented and cooked to perfection, very competitively priced. Should be more than 3 star. We are definitely going to make a plan to visit again next year with our Son, Daughter and future son-in-law Went for dinner. BEAUTIFUL setting, lovely drinks. However, our food wasn't particularly good value. Given that we ordered pork belly at £26, what came out was almost literally just a slice of pork belly, and a separate side of new potatoes had to be ordered to make it sufficiently filling. My burger was lovely, but had average chips and no little touches, like a slaw or salad. Very setting, but portion sizes are an area that really needs to be looked at to ensure value for money, as currently, it isn't. However, were super friendly, and drink choice was amazing. Come here for lovely summer drinks. For hearty food, currently I would look elsewhere. Very delicious (pub) food! Very friendly and enjoyable atmosphere. Location was convenient for us, but the cute village and houses as well as the Talbot Inn made it even more worth the visit! Definitely recommend! menu choice. The food was delicious, cooked to perfection. Lovely ambiance with log fire and beautiful Christmas decorations. The front of house were very welcoming from the time we entered. There was spot on. Nothing was too much trouble. Would highly recommend for a special occasion or regular treat. We loved it there. We absolutely loved this location. The friendly made it possible to get a table for us spontaneously. The location is just how I want a pub to look like. Cozy but tidy. Food was very delicious, so that I would definitely recommend. Sunday lunch. Our table was in one of the outside restaurants which are but you feel disconnected from the pub. Waitresses were very but a patchy. Roast was ok but tepid. Distance from the kitchen in this cold weather too far I suspect. Puddings nice. Bit cheeky to ask for a charge on top of a hefty price. Absolutely loved our stay at this smashing hotel. The were without exception terrific and friendly. Special mention for Olly who helped us when we first arrived made sure we were comfortable and had a drink. Lovely touches at the hotel - fresh milk delivered to your room plus scones in the afternoon etc etc We had at The Talbot with our small dog. What a treat. A beautiful old inn with a number is small dining areas and good bar. A warm welcome, first rate in a relaxed atmosphere, good menu and absolutely superb food. All in all a very good and a thoroughly enjoyable hour and a half in a beautiful setting. Thank you. Ate here with a friend and her farther.. team here were as needed extra space due to mobility but they happily accommodated... a start. Then we ordered and they helped with food intolerant guests (me being Gluten intolerant, my wife Dairy). Food was incredible ! Save your money and eat elsewhere. Very disappointing food, overpriced poor quality. Chips inedible as all could taste was old oil they had been cooked in. Vegan options only 1 so had to get sides..side was extremely overpriced and lacked flavour. Friend had ham egg and chips, ham was half fat. The waitress never asked us once how things were as I wanted to give feedback...she probably didn't ask as it's poor quality. The pub itself is charming and location but food for price was a huge let down We went today for the shared Christmas platter and it was brilliant. We were 6 adults and had 3 toddlers and 3 dogs with us(!), and the couldn’t have been more helpful and accommodating. We were in the sitting room, which was really well laid out and festive. The food was too.
