Fantastic hotel! Photos dont do it justice! The was extremely well put together and was decorated marvelously. The balcony was huge which I didnt expect! Bathroom was huge and well lit. Food was fantastic and service was above and beyond! Only issue I had was the mattress as it wasn't overly comfortable for myself or my other half how ever someone may prefer it. Would love to visit again! I booked a short (one night!) stay at the Northey Arms for my husband's 83rd birthday treat. The hotel is readily accessible by public transport (regular buses from Bath) with a bus stop directly outside. It is only a 20 minute walk from the centre of Box which for any railway enthusiast is worth visiting to see the entrance of Box Tunnel. An annex to the Northey Arms is on the site of the original station house, and although it is beautifully refurbished inside, I was assured some of the building fabric was original! The website warns of proximity to the railway line, but the train noise was minimal. The and bathroom were fabulous and the staff were all really friendly and helpful. Dinner was delicious (even though our first choice wasn't available, limiting the veggie options) and the breakfast was absolutely amazing. We loved our little break and will be returning - it felt like a really affordable special treat. Good work, team! :) What a find! From start to finish, the stay was wonderful. A short hop from Bath, we stayed on Bank Holiday Monday for a night. The deluxe was clean, spacious and well presented. The bed was comfortable, included mod cons (iron and board are rare these days) and the branded coffee and homemade cookies (to die for) were a touch. The food was sumptuous and not intending three courses needed to as everything was gorgeous. Recommended as a stay to see the village of Box or as an alternative to staying in Bath. Will recommend to others. We had a birthday lunch to celebrate my husband's 50th. The service was friendly and attentive but not fussy or stuffy. The food was excellent, and the overall dining experience was top notch. The restaurant was quiet, it being a random Saturday lunchtime, but I'd like to come back for Sunday lunch and I'm sure it will be busier. Beer overpriced, as in all the Butcombe chain, c'est la vie. Our deluxe double was really nice and a few extra touches were appreciated. The staff were so courteous and helpful. Breakfast was included in our deal and there was lots of choice and the food was fantastic. We also had an evening meal on one occasion which again was exceptional. We have stayed here before and will definitely be coming back. We had a fantastic 2 night stay at the Northey Arms. We stayed in the annex building and the was beautifully laid out and spacious. Our car could be parked right outside the which was great for loading and unloading. We stayed for dinner on the first night and enjoyed a meal in friendly surroundings. The staff went way and beyond to make us feel welcome. The hotel is a short drive from Bath in the village of Box.
