I had an absolutely wonderful spa day from start to finish. Everything was spotlessly clean and tidy, and it was clear that a lot of attention to detail had gone into every part of the experience. All of the were fully working, which made the day completely stress-free. The staff were incredibly friendly and welcoming, always happy to help and making sure everything was just right. Lunch was lovely, and the refreshments served after my massage were a really nice touch. The hibernation room was beautiful and so relaxing — the perfect place to unwind afterwards. The changing rooms were very well equipped, with hair dryers, straighteners, a Dyson hair curler, cotton wool buds tissues etc and high-quality shampoo, conditioner, cleanser, and lotion. There was even a dryer for clothes. Towels, robes, and everything else you could need were provided, which made the whole feel very luxurious. My massage was outstanding. The lady who treated me was amazing — without a doubt the best back, facial, and foot massage I’ve ever had. I left feeling completely relaxed and refreshed. Overall, it was a fantastic day and I will definitely be coming back. Highly recommended spa day here, not the cheapest spa day on offer. In fact top few on cost but worth it. The attention to detail on the little things made a big difference, the food was good and the treatments too. Overall highly recommended for a nice treat day. Went for a tour around today..thinking about starting a from Jan. This place has blown me away!! As an ex professional athlete I have seen many gyms, spa's, health experiences etc over the years..this place is streets infront of anything I have experienced. Well done Athelis👌👊👍. See you in the new year. Pic's will follow. I recently went for a tour of Athelis with the intention of potentially joining. Given the extremely high fees, I was expecting a premium experience, but unfortunately, I left feeling quite underwhelmed. Despite the impressive exterior, the inside felt surprisingly cramped for the size of the building, and there was an unpleasant smell throughout. Overall, the felt quite mediocre, certainly not what I would expect at this price point. Frankly, it didn’t feel much different to Virgin Active, which offers similar at a fraction of the cost. For the money Athelis is asking, I would expect significantly more in terms of both space and quality. We have been with Athelis since opening and regularly attend all the including our children who absolutely love the kids classes, in particular, the recently added Cheer, Gymnastics and Hangout where they even feature a movie night on Friday. This then allows both me and my wife to workout together knowing our children are in extremely safe hands. Full credit to Katie and Nic for the effort they put into every session. I just wanted to share how wonderful Nic and Katy were during the kids’ gym class. They were both brilliant, and the kids absolutely loved it! They were always so helpful and made the hangout sessions and gym sessions truly amazing. We definitely recommend this program – it’s a fantastic for the kids. Thank you for all your hard work and dedication! I have been a of Athelis for over 4 years and feel that the quality and style of their are elevated compared to other local studios, especially in relation to their yoga and reformer pilates studios. I also find that the quality of teachers leading these sessions are brilliant. If you're looking to venture into the world of reformer Pilates, Jenny Duane is an incredibly talented and expert teacher who knows just how to pace and cue her sessions for all abilities while offering innovative techniques to curate new and inspiring classes. I feel privileged that I have such a diversity of and wellness sessions available. Dear Stuart & Andy I just wanted to say a big thank you for the continued improvements across the club — it’s really been felt and appreciated. A few things that stood out to me recently: Jenny’s Reformer has been excellent, such a addition to the timetable and one I really look forward to. I also want to give a special mention to David — he’s consistently helpful, always on hand to solve any issues and just brings such a positive energy to the gym. It makes a real difference having someone so reliable and approachable around. The restaurant has seen such an improvement which I appreciate immensely. The food quality, service and overall have all noticeably improved, and it’s been to see the team open to suggestions and feedback. Thank you again to everyone involved — all the little details do add up and make the Athelis feel genuinely elevated. Best regards, Natalie My daughters have been now for a few months and fully enjoy swimming in the warm pool, the hangout and baby classes. My eldest daughter has made some lovely friends and has enjoys the multi activity at the kids club such as crafts and fitness games. She also takes part in family ignite and yoga which is for her learning new skills in a friendly gym environment. The swimming lessons are fantastic within a few months she has grown in confidence and can now swim a short distance unaided. The play area is the perfect for little ones to enjoy and is for a post swim play. Baby massage and baby sensory have something new and exciting each week. It’s been the meet other mums. Love the reformer at Athelis, been doing them since they were introduced in December 2024 . There’s plenty of with different instructors. Shout out to Kate, Abbey and Emma and Ant , you definitely know you’ve had a workout after their classes. Absolutely love Athelis & the facilities. It’s been especially nice since having my baby, being able to come to the Mum & Baby where there’s a real sense of community. The instructors Jemma & Nic are amazing, they make you feel so welcome, interact with your baby and most importantly help you to start feeling like yourself again. I can’t recommend them enough❤️ I debated joining Athelis for quite a while and I’m so glad I did. The and instructors are the BEST and the really are brilliant. It’s a beautiful place to exercise and relax. I love Becky’s yoga, pilates and sound bath classes, she really knows her stuff and I leave feeling wonderful. I have been a since Athelis opened and I try to come as much as possible as it's a fabulous place to work out and relax. The instructors are super friendly and helpful and I love doing aqua and pilates with Jenny. Gary and Ant run brilliant too. The warm outdoor pool has become my happy place 🙂 Lovely spa and wonderful staff. Olivia was especially very pleasant and friendly. The ambience is soothing and very aesthetic. Good value for money. I’ve been a here for 5 years now and have been doing reformer Pilates since the studio was built last December. I do with Kate Anne and they’ve been an absolute game changer. I look forward to them every week and she’s an incredible instructor. ❤️ I’m not actually a of the gym I came as a guest with my daughter for the breakfast with Santa they recently held. I was blown away by the cleanliness of the place and how polite and professional every of staff was. It was a magical day so Thankyou to everyone for making my daughters magical. I will definitely be looking into the memberships for us after our visit. This review is long overdue. If you’re considering joining Athelis for the ‘status’ or exclusivity, think twice and read the negative reviews too. Our started a few years ago when we joined on an offer of £65 per month. Within two months, they increased the price to £80 per for all and added an extra £30 “yearly maintenance fee.” You don’t get what you pay for. • Facilities: There’s no family changing room, meaning dads bring their young daughters into the men’s changing area, which is completely inappropriate. The showers are either unbearably hot or freezing cold, with no way to adjust the temperature. The gym may look premium, but that’s just the surface. • Equipment: Nowhere near enough for the number of members. No proper body metric scales, just basic cheap ones that you’d expect from a discount shop. • Pricing: Despite all these issues, we stayed for another year, only to find the price being increased again - eventually reaching £120 per for the basic membership. If you want the so-called “exclusive” with better changing rooms and lemon water, you can pay £250 per for their Apex membership. Athelis is a prime example of a business that prioritises profit over providing real value to its members. The constant price hikes, lack of essential facilities, and overcrowding make it clear that they care more about their elite branding than actual gym-goers. Save your money and go somewhere that values its members. My monthly fee has just went from £95 to £120 with no notice at all. I have checked my emails and nothing was sent. I wouldn't mind it as much if the place was worth it, but the place still has the same issues what people we're complaining about over a year ago. The stairs are a mess from the pool area to the spa and constantly smell like a wet dog. They obviously need redoing and have done for a long time. You can never use the rowing machines or kettle bells early in the morning as there is always a on in that area. They need to either put them somewhere else away from the gym or get more equipment and have them in different locations so everyone has access to them. Not everyone goes to the so we shouldn't have to wait until they have finished to use the equipment. Another in the reviews below who goes to the has said it shows a lack of respect for people to come and use the equipment whilst the is on, but obviously doesn't realise we also pay £120 or £250 a and shouldn't have to wait for the to finish so we can use kettle bells and rowing machines in that area. If the gym had more of them in different locations or your wasn't in the centre of the gym we wouldn't have that issue and have to come and ask to use them during a class. This isn't the fault of either memeber really and could easily be resolved if the people in charge had any common sense. The showers in the ACTIV changing rooms are a joke. They are always either too Hot or too Cold and are only on for a few seconds before you have to press the button again. Most of the shower heads don't work properly now and need replacing. For £120 a we should be able to adjust the temperature of them and have the option to keep them on for a bit longer like any normal shower. You don't even have these issues in bog standard gyms never mind a 'high end' one! Also on weekends they don't turn the sauna and steam room on until just before the place opens so they aren't hot until at least 9:30 as they take that long to warm up, And that's only if one of the lad's isn't cleaning them out which then makes it even longer! All this should be done well before come into the place so it is up and running when they do. I'd be shocked if the place is still open by the end of the year, everyone I know has already left due to most of the reasons I mentioned above because nothing ever changes even when you let them know. The owners and management don't care anymore and you can clearly see this now as most things have been neglected and have been allowed to get worse over time. They either need a big overhall of the place or they need to reduce the prices to something more reasonable which reflects how the place currently is. This gym is in so many ways. The are brilliant, especially Holly and Cecile’s Yoga - but they really need to address the hygiene issues, especially on the stairs that lead from the pool to the Thermal Suite. The wood around the stairs appears to be rotting and has been for months - they constantly smell damp and unclean. The windows by the Infinity Pool always have a build up which can’t be difficult to address. Given the cheapest they do here is over £100 a you’d think they’d deliver the highest of standards. Joined just over 2 months ago and can't fault the place, I've never looked forward to training so much. The are unrivalled and the new addition of Reformer tops this off. This "health club" is allowing migrant thief's to sign up for memberships so they can steal your belongings & god knows what else! I have been a at this gym for 12 months & what a mistake. Poor conditions such as mould growing in the steam room. I complained but the woman on reception just pulled a face. The mould was there since i joined day one. See pics. It gets better..staff & the manager David were aware of his "shifty' behaviour prior to the theft so they fully knew this man was up to something. Staff were even describing his appearance to police on the phone before I could even say who did it! They did clean the limescale ridden shower heads but only 3 months later.. Anyway back to the theft. I brought my belongings with me & locked them into my locker. My wedding ring, bracelet & watch with a combined value of 25 grand. I went for a shower came back 10 minutes later & my locker was opened & my things gone. Long story short the police confirmed the thief was staying at the travelodge across the road under fake information & likewise at the gym. My question is why have the gym allowed this thief to sign up for a 12 when the postcode he has supplied is 4 hours across the country without more rigorous checks? Ill tell you why they dont give a toss about their only £££. I have attached an image of the thief in the suit walking out. Avoid this gym if you have kids or value your possessions as this thief gained access at Athelis with ease. *All the information I have submitted in this review is the truth & from my own experience.* Website change monitoring Monitor any webpage for changes – get instant email alerts when prices drop, new jobs are posted, products come back in stock, or competitors update their sites.
