Bellissimo duomo con uno stupendo chiostro e una piccola chiesetta sotto l'altare, molto decorata e ben mantenuta Nuestra Señora de la Asunción La catedral de Acqui Terme (Italia), está dedicada a la Asunción de Nuestra Señora. Se encuentra en la provincia de Alessandria y región del Piamonte. Se inicio en el siglo XII, en estilo románico. De esta época se conservan los ábsides, el crucero y la cripta. El resto pertenece al siglo XVIII, en la época barroca. Consta de tres naves decoradas con estucos y frescos de los siglos XVIII al XIX. Al exterior destaca el esbelto campanario y la portada principal, construidos en el siglo XV. Purtroppo nn siamo riusciti a visitare l’intero ma già da fuori promette molto. While looking around silently an older man came up to me and bade me to follow him into a room he had to unlock. Fearing but God (not death nor the devil), I followed him and was rewarded with access to the beautiful (folding)altar you see in the pictures. There are nice flyers available of that there too. Caring trust is still worth it :) p.s.: The picture of the ceiling is not showing God high-fiving (as it seemed at first), but the expulsion of Luzifer btw. That painting! It’s just breathtaking. The energy it exudes is something else. The caretaker was super nice and took us to the bishops private chapel where the painting is. Go check it out, it’s def worth it. Durante il rientro a casa dopo le vacanze, abbiamo deciso di fare una tappa ad Acqui Terme, una cittadina che non conoscevo e di cui sapevo ben poco. Cercando qualche informazione su internet, ho scoperto l’esistenza di una fontana al centro del paese, “La Bollente”, dalla quale sgorga un’ acqua termale a ben 70 gradi centigradi. Incuriositi, io e la mia famiglia ci siamo diretti lì prima di ripartire. Appena arrivati, ci siamo subito accorti che il borgo custodiva un’anima antica, ma avevamo pochi riferimenti storici. È stato allora che, proprio davanti alla fontana, abbiamo incontrato due cittadini del posto: Fabrizio e Leonardo. Entrambi sono stati cordiali e disponibili e la conversazione con loro si è rivelata piacevole e interessante. I due amici si sono offerti volontari per accompagnarci in un vero e proprio viaggio tra i luoghi più significativi di Acqui Terme. Con passione e competenza, Leonardo ci ha guidati alla scoperta dei beni storici e artistici della città, raccontando con entusiasmo la sua storia e le sue tradizioni. La sua cultura e preparazione storica sono davvero notevoli: ogni parola trasmetteva amore per il territorio e il desiderio sincero di condividerlo. Abbiamo vissuto un’esperienza autentica, che ci ha fatto sentire accolti e coinvolti. La visita alla Cattedrale e alla Cappella di San Guido, con il meraviglioso trittico della vergine di Montserrat del 1400, la spettacolare e austera cripta sorretta dalle 98 colonne, e agli altri luoghi simbolo della città è stata arricchita da racconti, dettagli e curiosità che ci hanno lasciato il desiderio di tornare, questa volta con più calma. Un grazie sincero per la generosità, il tempo e la dedizione. È grazie a persone come loro che un luogo si trasforma in un ricordo prezioso.
