Took the car to this to drop the MTB, then drove on to Monthermé, parked at the confluence of the Semois and la Meuse and started walking back to Lac des Vieilles Forges. Very nice walk, highly recommend, just don't underestimate the first 7 or so kms, that's where the elevation delta is. Arrived at the from the North side, jumped on the bike and rode back along the South side. 23 kms walking, 27 riding, lots of mud and a big smile on my face. Great to dive, chill, walk, ..... Excellent fun with the family lots to do on and off the Nice big with clean water where you can sailing,fishing,swiming or just chill and calm in the nice mounaain area. In the forests around is lot of bike or touristic trails. Pretty good, come when it's hot though because the water is cold in the morning. Trails are good too took around an hour on a mountain bike to go all around. Beautiful place, worth a walk around the and it's magic resorts. This is our 5th camping place in Europe in 10 days. Have never seen such a dirty and unhealthy sanitaries in a camping area!!! Be careful not to get any illness! Chav paradise Such a disappointment. Where do I start. The site itself is ok. Pitches are ok but not great. Toilet, shower and pot wash is nothing short of disgusting. Honestly the worst I’ve experienced in 20 years of camping. Wotrse still is the dance music blaring all night. Im bored even typing. Just avoid. Chav paradise.
