The best for telling the stories of three wars....1870 and wwi and ww2 as well as the reconciliation and peace. I felt very humble after this experience Nice about the three (recent) in the French Ardennes. Amazing museum. Laid out and narrated extremely well in various languages. Very informative & a great place to learn about impact on the Ardennes region. Well worth the small ticket fee - great value for money. Friendly reception staff & clean toilets too. Excellent museum, modern layout with clear signs and plenty of exposition. Chronological exposition of all the pre, ante and post war periods of the Franco-prussian war, the great war and World War 2, making it very easy to follow and see the connections between these major conflicts. A truly stunning collection of military uniform that is exceptional and impressive, with original pieces from all three involving all belligerents. Secondary collections of various war paraphernalia, including artillery, vehicles, guns, and bayonets from all periods, but also items of communication and other support roles. All in all an extremely impressive for such an out of the way place, wholeheartedly and unreservedly recommend. We spent about 2-3 hours here. Very well documenten on the 3 big that took place in this area, the French-German war of 1870-1873 and the first and second worldwar. Further the peace in Europe and the global conflicts since the second world war are shown. Wapens that are on display do not interest me much, but the stories behind the and conflicts and it's history is very important to understand also shows fragile peace is. A true hidden gem of Northeastern France! This showcases the military history of the Ardennes through the periods of the Franco-Prussian War, World War 1 and World War 2. Very well laid out and informative. The historical uniform collection and vehicle displays are also done well. Numerous full scale dioramas provide an immersive experience. Friendly and attentive staff took time to explain the layout and history of the facility. Well worth a trip, if you are in the region! Really good where they explain very well (in most cases also in English and German) what the impact was on the Ardenne region caused by three separate since 1870. Lots of material and graphic explanation of what happened when, how and why. And only 8 euros per person when we visited. Fantastic collection. English translations available. LOTS to see.
