Wow! This is the best tribute to our bullocky and timber heritage I've seen! The diorama is huge and the jinkers connection to the old timer in the videos is fantastic, all the tools are great to look at, the videos gave me heaps of search clues to find a lot of historic footage I hadn't seen before. The separate wood turners club/museum in the connected building was great! I loved the neato saw vice/jig and the old turning machinery showed me a lot of detail I hadn't learn before 😁👍 thank you, loved it all Terrific place to catch up on the info for the area. Amazing wood display with early history and implements used back in that era. Great samples of dressed timber milled on display. Very informative staff for those interested in the pioneering days and ways. Amenity block adjoining. One of the best Information Centres we have visited. The staff, 2 sisters,were very welcoming and knowledgeable. The Diorama was outstanding and the detail and authenticity was amazing 👏 . A fantastic educational tool for younger generations. Well done to all the volunteers and council. Really good. Have been to many Visitors information centre's around Australia. This was one of the best. Big shout out to the lovely ladies in the centre. Great conversation with them about all things Wondai and life in general. Support there push to honour the wonderful people who come from the area. There is more than just Wondai's Mate! The centre itself, free entry, is a treasure-trove of the pioneering past, perhaps lost to this age altogether. Steeped in history. Didn't know there were that many different axe types! Very informative..love the flim they show...& the many different types of wood they have on display... The were lovely & very helpful.. Beautiful museum friendly and helpful stuff . Great guide. She is a volunteer and loves her time in the visitors centre, pity I didn't ask her name. She was a wealth of Knowledge.
