The owners were so kind and knowledgeable on the and the wildlife in the area which was so engaging throughout the experience. Feeding the and learning about them all was an incredible experience, the perfect day out for some fun. The calves were adorable and getting to feed them all was such a treat. And to top it all off the tea and cakes were delightful, the perfect ending to a lovely morning at Dumble Farm. I also loved the gift shop on site and purchased a few goodies from there before leaving. It was lovely to hear the plans they have for the future and I will be sure to return soon. I loved hearing about the conservation project and the really clever pivot from dairy farming. Such an excellent idea and brilliantly executed. It is well thought-out and planned so there certainly wasn't a dull moment and the morning really flew by but I didn't feel rushed at all. Small groups sizes and attention to detail make it so that each person gets to have plenty of interaction and it feels as though they are sharing something they love with you rather than churning you through a chain of events with as many people as possible just for profit as so many other attractions do. The people who run the are enthusiastic, friendly, and knowledgeable, so they are available throughout to give you helpful and interesting facts about the land, in general, as well as offering insight into the personalities and lives of their individually while also giving you space to enjoy the experience. You can tell that they have a deep love of and respect for their animals. So often animal experiences seem exploitative but this was the polar opposite of that. The aren't forced to do anything they don't enjoy, they are well cared for and have loads of space, and you get to meet each animal where they are comfortable: feeding the ones who enjoy being fed, grooming the ones who enjoy being groomed, cuddling the ones who enjoy being cuddled, and looking at the ones who don't particularly want to be bothered from a distance. They know each of their by name and have clearly gotten to know them well, which is pretty incredible when you see how many of them there are. I thought it was a bit pricey when I booked it but now, after the day I've had, I can tell you it was seriously well worth it. I got to do and learn so much and I would recommend it to anyone who has even a vague affinity for cows. In terms of practical advice, I don't drive and was concerned that I wouldn't be able to travel to do something like this in such a rural area, but I got to the with ease through conveniently timed public transport with just a bit of planning and an even smaller bit of walking. I stayed in Hull the night before and took the train from there to Arram in the morning and walked half a mile to the then did that in reverse in the afternoon.
