My young children go there for swimming classes, nice staff at reception. Swimming instructors are great, especially Kirsty 😊. Good facilities for everyone really 😊 I hate this place. So many people in one small room, I counted 30. No chance to get on any equipment. Meanwhile next door the spin class room is used once a day, if that. Buy more weights and put it in the spin class room. Absolute joke this place has triple the customers from a year ago, lets all the children in and hasn't invested in anything. Staff are useless. No gym etiquette. Can't wait for a better place to open up. Worst gym I've ever trained at , machines so close together you can smell the person next to you. Self entitled people tying up 2 or 3 pieces of so you can't get on My son stopped training here because it was full of weirdos (nonces) staring at him. And a member of staff in the flashing at the kids trying to get changed , I cancelled mine and my sons membership and am now getting harassed for monies owed Stay well clear of this place Am a member and have been for many a year. This post is just for the swimming pool. It's looking shabby and no longer meeting the needs of the community. There's only one and when I take the grandchildren its difficult for them to learn to swim and play in the at public swim times. There use to be a lane roped of for fast swimmers this has long gone and needs bringing back . You are just moving all the time in the shallow end ,it's no longer enjoyable. It's the worst in East Yorkshire. Been to Hornsea in half term, perfect time was had, meet everyone needs. Come on East Yorkshire Council, time for a new leisure centre in Pocklington please I have just joined the gym/swim on a membership scheme, the gym was great for the size alot of in there plenty of enough to get a pump on and good cardio. The receptionists were very friendly, kind and welcoming. The gym were fine, typical rooms. The and sauna was another issue and completely ruined my experience. 1. The was dirty and full of hair and dirt along the bottom of the pool. 2. I don't want to sound like the fashion police but the staff allow swimmers to wear actual G-Strings/Thongs (string thongs) as acceptable swimwear when their are children around which I found unacceptable. 3. I went into the sauna, the sauna is good it's a little sauna and great to get a sweat on, but it says swimwear only and over 16's (I believe). I had young teenagers running in and out of the sauna fully clothed shoes on running in and out of there, I was in today and some woman walked in fully clothed with a coat on and shoes. 4. People walk around the with shoes on despite it saying no outdoor shoes on, on the door to the swimming rooms. (I understand the lifeguards wear indoor shoes only) 5. The room floors were FILTHY, wet leaves along the floor in clumps, dirty footprints, pools of muddy water and the smell in the rooms. Closing times are too early and everyone is in a hurry to close the hall after 20:00.. In the new year, you have pushed the closing hours back even further. You have many deficiencies, so I will withdraw my membership. I've just returned to the gym after some time off. The staff and other customers are friendly and welcoming. The classes that I have joined in have been fun and motivating; the quality and professionalism of the instructors has been excellent. Given the size and age of the venue I really feel the Management and staff do a great job and work hard to deliver the best service possible with the resources that they have. Would I change anything? Maybe open a little earlier ........ and even more classes. But all that really needs to be said is Thank you 😊 . Been going here for a year and a half, it’s got everything you need in there for weightlifting so long as you’re sticking to the compound movements and cable exercises; good variety of cardio machines as well. Only downside is it’s very small so if you go at busy times you’ll have a job trying to get on the equipment. If you go nice and early like when it opens as I do however, then it’s not that busy and you’ll be absolutely fine.
