We drove here for lunch and was not disappointed. Really selection of meals from fish and chips to house curry. They also have a selection of gluten free meals. We had liver and onions, fish and chips with gluten Free onion rings and a gluten free steak pie and mash. Friendly and value for money Food was perfect and was excellent. It was to see front always busy, looking for things to do. There are too many organisations where only do the essential. Also was one of the chefs visiting the dining area to chat with customers. We were recommended The Railway. We too will be passing on that recommendation to others. We will certainly be coming back to eat. Thank you for a evening. What a fantastic Sunday dinner. we all had the 3 meat Sunday roast it was beef pork and turkey all cooked to perfection it came with huge Yorkshire pudding, stuffing, crackling, apple sauce, a selection of chunky vegetables and as much gravy as you want.The stuff were very nice and helpful. The owner and her husband were very welcoming and friendly and recommended there other pub in Beverly rose and crown we will definitely be trying and definitely be coming back here one of the best roast dinners we have had at a reasonable price. My only criticism is the owners mum could do with keep her gob shut and stop causing chaos like an headless chicken Wow food was amazing and portion sizes are big... got the starter and jumped straight in without taking pics... delicious food, everyone really enjoyed. Amazing steak pie all home made and packed with beef that melted in the mouth! Great idea to have smaller portions available for some dishes. Place was warm, friendly and clean. Really value for money, I've paid more locally for much less quality. There was a welcoming Atmosphere when we arrived. We were welcomed by the immediately when doors opened. The pub had a pleasant and warm environment. The food was excellent with generous portions.. We didn’t stay at the accommodation but would have gladly stayed as it is near a number of popular venues. There is a large carpark and free of charge. Had a celebrating my dad's birthday and my aunt's belated birthday. Food was delicious was and very filling. Wonderful portions, and just beautiful quality. The was excellent, we all had a wonderful time. Thank you to the who carried the birthday cake out, it was very appreciated. We were struggling to find a place that did nice food until we went here and ended up going here for the last 3 evening's of our holiday (wish we had found it sooner!) Exceptional food at prices. Would highly recommend!! I visited with family for Sunday lunch. It was busy so I would booking in advance if possible. There was a bit of a wait for the food but when it arrived it was well worth it. I would definitely eat here again Visited on a Sunday in late January 2025. Nice place, warm and friendly. I'm not a fussy eater and could easily have eaten anything from the menu. I chose the steak pie with chips and veg/gravy. Absolutely delicious and washed down with a nice beer. I'm looking forward to trying the haddock and chips next. Highly recommend. Went on a Tuesday in September 2025 and was very impressed. From the moment we walked in with our two Frenchies we were warmly welcomed. The food, the service, the friendliness was all first class . The was super quick and the food was first class. We had the Scampi and the 10oz Rump .. both excellent. Can’t highly enough. 👍👍👍 I have been coming to this beautiful pub for years and never had a bad meal, but unfortunately tonight we were all disappointed. The fish was full of bones to the point the 3 people who ordered it gave up. I had the salmon with potatoes and brocoli which wasn't very hot when it arrived. The was slow, we waited a long for the food to be served. Not a cheap meal to have so many problems. What a little find! Family run business for 25 years! The food is incredible and was impeccable. Very accommodating on a Saturday evening despite us not having booked in and were great with the kids too. Highly recommend, we can't wait to go back! Walked to The Railway Inn from Hatfield along the 65 cycle lane & it didn't disappoint. The food was amazing, were very friendly & was a extremely dog friendly place. Will definitely visit again when I'm next up here camping. We were on holiday for a week and spent most of the trying to find a decent pub — then we finally found this one on Google. The food was amazing (easily the best we had while we were away) and the were honestly incredible. We were struggling to get a taxi back and they even offered us a lift — if that’s not amazing service, I don’t know what is! 10/10, would definitely recommend!! We stayed here on 29th/30th October 2025. Our room was very clean, tidy, warm and the bed extremely comfortable. The meals on offer during the day are a Coeliacs delight, one of which is a G/F homemade steak pie with a gorgeous crust(best I've ever tasted) with plenty of other choices for both Coeliacs & non- Coeliacs, well looked & well presented. Breakfast is cooked to order & was great, local produce is used whenever possible. The are very welcoming & attentive, couldn't do enough for us. The dining room was busy, always a sign of food, so you may need to book a table. Just remember this 2* rated, for us it could be more just on the given, we would stay again without any hesitation.
