Des motards 😉✌️ It was fun and friendly and interesting to learn about the viaduct construction. But it just has its limits. On a pedalo you can go where you want or nowhere at all. On a railway line you go where it takes you, and you can't go any faster or slower than those in front or behind you. So it's not so relaxing. And while the Cantal is lovely, there is so much happy undergrowth, and such a healthy tree stock that you can't really see more than five metres either side of the rails (the photo being the one moment of exception). We did the 2hr tour with electric assistance, and the outbound journey is downhill, so no assistance, and no need to pedal... But you've got to come back!! On the return it is sooo steep (for a train line) and the pedalos are sooo heavy that it is really quite hardcore sport, not so much dreamy relaxation. The electric takes care of everything, and makes you feel like a cheat! Don't get me wrong, me and my 7yr old son had fun, we enjoyed it and don't regret our visit, just seeing the cast iron ballustrade on the viaducts is worth it, but know the limitations. Tarif correct, balade très sympa au calme et à l'ombre. Vive l'assistance électrique car je pense que sans, cela est trop sportif pour apprécier. Je recommande. 2h de balade avec un petit arrêt histoire sur un viaduc. Réserver votre venue. Accueil chaleureux, le guide est très pro et explique bien l'histoire de cette partie de voie ferrée. Toilettes propres, possibilité d'amener son chien (laisse bien sûr) et une glacière. Petite restauration disponible à la gare et possibilité de pique-niquer sur place. Des jeux pour les jeunes enfants. Parcours ombragé. Très chouette sortie familiale. Pour une première fois on a fait le parcours de 2h, la prochaine fois on choisira le parcours à la journée. Assistance électrique top pour mieux profiter du moment détente. Nice little event during the day, selected the manual pedalorail, able to do though not for both children up front though this wasn't wasn't problem. Great activity for all the family. We took the all day extra long route to a lake, going over viaducts and through pitch black tunnels!! (Torch provided for the feint hearted 😂) pedalling down hill most of the way. We were very glad of the electric assist on the way back! It does take a good few hours, but the scenery is amazing and the route is varied. The lake has picnic tables and chairs and the water was warm enough to swim in (august) There is plenty of room on the vehicle to put picnic bags etc even with all 5 of our seats filled. Super friendly guide who was kind enough to explain everything in English for us when our French was not as good as it should have been 😉 Cost about €120 for all 5 of us for the day, which is pretty good value. We all said we would do it again next year 😊 As a group of 5 adults we were expecting to have two carts but were placed in one (against their own safety rules which state max 4 adults). It was an adventure to be endured not enjoyed. The vibration was horrendous particular over the rear wheels. Vision blurred so that you could not see the scenery - not that there was much to see. Stop after 500m to hear the history of the line which was the most interesting part of the excursion. Fun maybe for a family but not a group of adults.
